Tbh the Toney stuff all seems consistent. Unfair, wrong, but consistent. And he has the ability to score lots of goals in the Premiership, so will get signed and play regularly for middling/ fringe teams like Villa and Chelsea. And double his salary.

I know he's their best player but I'm not sure why the Brentford supporters are giving Toney a heroes welcome. He's been very disrespectful towards the club in my view.

Mental injury time at Brammal Lane

6 mins given on the board, currently in the 12 minute after 2 red cards and now the goalkeeper is being subbed off as a penalty is awarded

Christ, Bournemouth really do stink the PL out don't they.
Them, Palace and Forest are awful to watch.
If Forest do go down, don't they have EFL charges to face re FFP also?

Kudos to the referee and his team of officials for somehow managing to get all four big decisions in added time incorrect. The penalty, in particular, is a joke of a decision

Still, West Ham are on the fringes of a Champions League spot so anything to knock them off track, can’t be having them there

Bournemouth one of the more watchable teams IMO

On a very good run of form before today IIRC. After a slow start, Iraola is doing a good job there

Gameweek 21 has now been split across two weeks so each team will have one weekend off.

This. Is basically a sop to the TV companies, isn't it? They have managed to maintain a pretty normal schedule despite there being a winter break. Leaves the PL feeling disjointed, not least given they now have another ten days off (or thereabouts) owing to the FA Cup.

There's no stopping Americanisms I'm afraid. Unless they are specifically banned on HNA...
Then at least there would be one safe haven

Seria A have always done matchday X I think, but it doesn't really suit English football. Watching the Michael Owen Howard Webb VAR show and Micheal Owen has started saying "And now we're going back to gameweek 19: Newcastle versus Forest". Just wrong.

Agreed. Really don't think fans go through their club's fixture list at the start of a season marking down and learning gameweeks and matchdays so is utterly meaningless. Just say "let's got to the recent Forest v Newcastle game" or whatever it is.

It's almost impossible to agree with Joey Barton on anything, but he's spot on here.

So a player comes back from gambling ban to play in a kit sponsored by a gambling company against a team sponsored by another gambling company. The game is live on a TV channel who have their own gambling company. Whilst you watch the game, you’re bombarded with gambling advertisements.

What kind of message are we sending?

Yeah, don't like agreeing with him, but he is spot on there.
