Liverpool’s under 21’s beating a £1bn Chelsea side is a great day for football

Ascotexgunner 1.5 billion on that sh*t.

Gallagher proved today that he is nothing more than a glorified Robbie Savage. Appalling finisher.

If you’re gonna pick on a Chelsea player today, probably wise not to pick out one of their better performing players?

Everything that’s gone wrong for Chelsea encapsulated in the last 24 or so hours - watching Jorginho (a player they sold for a measly £12 million) run the show while their two £225 million combined midfielders struggling against a youth team. Pair of them were dreadful

Always said he was an overrated manager. Tough gig at Chelsea but today was unacceptable and he didn’t fare much better at PSG

Still, he played the “Spurs” way so all is good

genome No it’s a nonsense.

I don’t care about all the logical arguments for VAR, football is an emotional game. VAR has ruined it

Agreed

No way would anyone have called that goal out pre-VAR

All this micro-analysing of everything nowadays, from refereeing decisions to counting the number of passes each individual makes in a game has taken a fair amount away from the game IMO

NathStPaul I used to like Klopp but I now can't wait for him to go. Moaning crybaby.

He’s definitely become a lot more bitter but still hope they win the title above City and in particular Arteta

This. Chelsea's 'super squad' of inexperience and poor quality humbled by a team that has seen eight academy graduates get a winners' medal. The club as a whole might not be, but Liverpool's cup winners an antidote to Chelsea's 'billion pound bottle jobs'.

No Alisson, Trent, Salah, Nunez, Szobsozlai, Jones, Jota. No problem.

How Caicedo avoided punishment for the challenge on Gravenberch, I don't know.

He should have got booked for persistent fouling if nothing else. I'd also mention the madness of Connor Bradley getting booked because he got set upon by Ben Chilwell, but I don't want to be a crybaby

Mike Dean then justified that booking by saying "the referee needed to make a point". Well then maybe book some of the other players who steamed in to get involved rather than Bradley who as far as I could see put his hands up and moved away from the incident.

Don't think Bradley was completely innocent. He did seem to kind of rugby tackle Chilwell when he was falling over which Chilwell then over-reacted to.

Chilwell should've been off at that point. He should've been booked for a stupid challenge about 5 minutes in where he cynically took out a Liverpool player
