WestYorksRoyal Is this the part of the season where City relentlessly swat aside all in their path?

Yes.

They do look a little more vulnerable to the counter attack. I think Arsenal or Liverpool would have done them today.

Possibly part of the game plan though as they realised United’s final product is appalling. I’d be surprised if they tried the same thing against a Liverpool side at Anfield!

This. No guarantee Liverpool will next week though. A Liverpool win would make it really interesting. We'd have a proper 'race' with City (and Arsenal) trying to cling on to Liverpool's coattails rather than the other way around, and the inevitability that City have just enough.

Tbf all three sides have stepped it up/found ways to win. Arsenal have won their last six. Liverpool have won eight of their last nine (with a defeat to Arsenal in the middle). City are unbeaten in 11, winning nine of them.

Liverpool still the only team to pass 90 points in a top tier season and not win the title. And they've done it twice. An outside chance someone does it again this time.

Think a draw would keep it most interesting. I think 4 points at this stage could just be too much for City to chase, especially with them in the CL and Liverpool in the EL

URZZZZ Rashford is an embarrassment

Very good strike granted, but he hasn’t done a single thing right all afternoon other than that. You simply cannot carry passengers at this level and is the exact reason why United will never challenge right at the top with wasters like him in the side

You look at what Guardiola demands of obscenely talented players and that's the difference. Simply having the ability to hit a worldie isn't enough at that level. Had Rashford broken through in the Fergie era, he'd have either become a beast of a player under his tutelage or been sold abroad.

Agreed

There was a cross in (around the 30th minute) which United cleared to the edge of their box. De Bruyne bust a gut to reach the loose ball, Rashford ambled towards it

Aside from respective talents, there’s your difference, the mentality is light years apart. Talent is immaterial at the highest level to an extent if the application doesn’t match

And it's what's required at the top. If you look at a player like Grealish, it took him time to adapt at City and it's no surprise. If you can help a team like Villa win 10-15 games a season, that's great. It kept them up in their first PL season.

Whereas at City, winning every week is taken for granted, and if you can't deliver in a title defining match at Anfield or CL semi final tie against Real Madrid, what's the point of you being there? City have such a gulf in class against 90% of their opposition, you're signed to make the difference against the 10%.

Whereas Man Utd accept less at the moment. They love a 7 or 8 game run winning the games they should, but the gulf from the top teams is as big as it's ever been.

NathStPaul I like Onana. He's a shithouse.

This. He's got a bit of the Barthez about him.

I see what you mean. Barthez had a nack of throwing the odd one in too.

Royal Rother 10?

Imagine Arsenal will take their foot off at half time, they'll probably make changes to keep their first choice 11 fresh. Should mean Sheffield United have an easier time of things.

Its massively embarrassing though. No side playing Premier League football should be this bad.

Agree they have the GD now. Just can't believe how bad Sheff Utd. They don't even look championship quality.

What a coward Wilder is. Playing 451 at home and 0-4 down.

Have there been two Premier League teams as bad as Sheff United and Burnley in the same season before?

I was shocked Burnley have spent over a 100mil. How Kompany is still there when the ginger bearded one got no money and performed miracles is beyond me.

Was thinking that. I remember some real dross in the mid 90's. Swindon Town being the worst.

I dunno, his team are playing like a half decent League 1 team would against a Premier League team.

I count 41 Premier league goals conceded at home so far including tonight’s five not out.

The record is 46.
