Simmops Is this the return to a heyday for British football? All 4 English teams could be in the final.

Hendo Saw Utd were losing 2-1, watched a few bit on TV, forgot about it and saw they ended up winning 6-2

Were Roma just terrible in the second half?

As long as Utd don't have a monumental cock up in the second leg, the away goals really don't matter.

The Roma goalkeeper was very helpful to United. His wrists are made of cheese.

Terrible penalty call to United at 3-2 seemed to cause Roma to crumble too

Also looked tired - had to use all three subs in their first 30 minutes, including their backup GK

Will try and watch the highlights today to see, but I did see a still of the Roma penalty, which I thought was a bit harsh on Pogba, not 100% sure what else he could've done when trying to block a cross.

Eh? The best period of British football in Europe was the 70s and early 80s. English clubs (Liverpool, Forest and Villa) won 6 consecutive European Cups, and 7 in 8 years, whilst Ipswich and Spurs both won the UEFA Cup. This is nothing like the 'heydey' of British clubs in Europe.

I was amazed that was given...both penalties were 'soft' but understandable.

They were shit tbf. Couldn't string two passes together in the second half and didn't have enough men behind the ball

We had a decent run in the mid-2000s as well. From your mob winning it in 2005 to Chelsea winning it in 2012. There were eight English clubs in the finals but just the three wins.

I thought the Roma pen was a stick on tbf - don’t think his hands are in a natural position whatsoever but may just be me as the general consensus was that it was harsh

Yeah, Roma were surprisingly open for an Italian side, recall them getting thumped in a similar manner to Liverpool a few years back too

Didn't Utd put 7 past them as well in a Champions League game a number of years ago?

Nor did most Forest fans, but it doesn't stop them singing about it every week.

So that's him x1, Marcelo, 1 and then Hazard 58 times.

0 shots on target says it all really - embarrassment given their riches of talent

They’re a nasty, bitter little team, and it isn’t the first time Pochettino’s side has tried to kick lumps out the other team.

Still, at least they had more possession, “The Spurs Way”
