Cameroon U17s NOT U17s

by Royal Rother » 05 Jan 2023 14:53

Samuel Eto'o introduced MRI scans to check that the squad actually qualify to play.

Of the original 30 in their ACON squad, 21 failed.

New players brought in and 11 of those have also failed the test.

A Fecafoot (Governing body of Cameroon football) statement said Eto'o gave "strict instructions" for the actions to be taken "in order to put an end to the tampering with civil status records which have, in the past, tarnished the image of Cameroon football.

I wonder if that's the proverbial tip of a long-buried iceberg.

I have seen it in this country, parents putting kids forward into academies where you think they are older than the age group they are in and in some cases proven - witnessed it with a Polish lad.
