Juventus losing at HT and in 5th place. Lazio win and are 2 points behind them with a game in hand. Juventus still have to play Inter and AC Milan in their last 4 games too.

When can I do an 'it's happening' type post?! :lol:

I wonder if Ronaldo has a clause to say he can leave if they dont qualify for the CL

...back in the Turkish Superlig :mrgreen: - it looks as if Gençlerbirligi's grip on survival is slipping - they lost a 2nd successive game - though rather understandably went down 0-2 to 'Gala' yesterday.
This defeat leaves the Anakara side in 20th place - 3 points from safety with only 3 games left, also having played a game more than those above them.

- Galatasaray are 6 pts behind leaders Besiktas - both have 3 games to play.
The two clash next Saturday (8th) at Gala's Türk Telekom Stadium - fireworks/gunshots and dead-goats all over the show no doubt! :lol:

Fenerbahçe are currently 3rd two points further back but play this PM at home against lowly Erzurumspor.

Today sees the clubs just above the 'drop-line' ## meet each other 15th (Basaksehir) v 16th (Ankaragücü) and 14th (Malatyaspor) v 17th (Kayserispor)
The other two relegation threatened clubs (Erzurumspor & Kasimpasa) in 18th/19th face tough games against clubs in the top 6

NOTE ## I'm not too sure about the actual mechanics of relegation/promotion anyhow, as the division increased from 18 to (somewhat bizarrely) 21 only last season - and they may yet have play-offs to decide?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the Portuguese Primeira Liga - things are little more stretched out.
With everyone having 4 games left, leaders Sporting (Lisbon) have a 6 point lead over Porto, Benfica are 4 points further back who themselves are 8 points clear of 4th placed Braga.
Benfica host Porto on Thursday - Sporting go to relegation threatened Rio Ave the night before and then travel to Benfica on the 15th - so the title should be sealed by then.
Messi now has 21 goals and 6 assists in his last 16 league games for Barca. Atletico go to Camp Nou on Saturday, and a win would probably put Barca out of it. Real Madrid host Sevilla on Sunday - although I'd argue their toughest remaining game is their trip to Bilbao a week later.
At the other end Eibar decided not to go quietly into the night - a Kike hat-trick saw them beat Alaves 3-0, but the gap is probably still too big. Above them Alaves, Huesca, Elche and Valladolid are separated by just a point, with two more to go down.
The 21-team Superlig is due to COVID. Whilst Turkey played their season out in full, it was decided to scrap relegation, so three promoted sides joined the 18-team league this season, with an additional team to usual (four in total) to be relegated in each of the next three seasons to bring the numbers down again.
A couple of stories in Ligue 2 - Paris FC and Auxerre are fighting it out for the last promotion play-off place, for Paris it would be a first appearance in Ligue 1 since 1978, which was not long after their split from PSG. And Grenoble look set for a play-off place too - the club went bust and reformed in the fifth tier in 2011. Promotion to Ligue 1 would be their third in five years.
Anyway, cant be arsed to go back over it but his knee is f*cked. Yet more surgery coming up as he is now having his inner meniscus removed.
What happened to Schalke this season? Only 13 points? Have they had a massive points deduction?
Four different managers, only one player with more than two league goals. They at least got a second league win of the season recently, which avoids them setting an unwanted record for fewest wins in a season.
They were hunting for a Europe spot last year, then from no-where, they just seemed to collapse. 6 points from their last 16 games last season - and that run seems to have continued into this season too. If you combine this season and their last 16 games of last season:
2 wins in 46
13 draws
31 losses
Just 19 points
GD in the same period of -88!
A bit of Googling suggests former chairman Clemens Tonnies is blamed for the problems - he overspent, not least when Schalke made the CL, and left the club in squillions of debt when he resigned early last year.
He was forced to resign as I recall due to unsafe conditions at his meat packing plant that led to hundreds of staff members contracting Covid.
This weekend is Barca Vs Atletico and Real Madrid Vs Sevilla with those 4 making up the top 4 in the league and 6 points between them with 4 left to play right now
Also on the last day of the season Real Madrid play at home to Villarreal, and the latter now play the EL final 3 days later, which could would to RM's advantage with potential rotations and players not being overly keen on crunching tackles
Robert Lewandowski scores a hat-trick taking his league goals to 39 for the season, 1 behind the all time Bundesliga goals record for a season.
He has 2 games left to add to it. He missed 5 league games recently too.
Quite a turnaround for Dortmund who looked like their chances of getting a CL qualifying spot were gone a few weeks ago when they lost to Frankfurt, who themselves were looking to grab the last qualifying spot.
Dortmund have now won 5 in a row while the wheels have truly come off of Frankfurt's season
Milan beating Juve 3-0. Milan also missed a penalty.
Juventus in 5th place with 3 to play, and they face Inter next weekend too :lol:
