0-0 home draw for Almeria with Athletic Bilbao, now on to 9 points, and extending their La Liga record to 29 games without a victory. Cadiz are nearly as awful. They won two of their first four league games and sat sixth - and they haven't won since, 22 without a victory now. A 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo at the weekend was the first time they have scored more than one goal in a league game since October.

Bologna have capitalised on a nice run of fixtures and won five in a row. They are 4th in Serie A and in the final CL spot - they have only reached the CL, then European Cup, once in their history, in 1964, and the 60s was also the last time they finished any higher than 5th in the league.

Seven games to go in Belgium ahead of their stupid handicapped end of season championship playoff. USG are 20 points ahead of third place, but face a play-off against all the sides down to sixth spot.

will be interesting to see what happens to them in the summer. As said before, Lewis Ferguson is reportedly getting attention from some of the bigger clubs out there, and Motta is continually linked with taking over at Barcelona (though I still assume Marquez will end up getting it)

Brest is best, for now. Taking advantage of a so-so season in Ligue 1 for contenders not called PSG, Stade Brestois currently second in the league, albeit only ten points ahead of Marseille in 9th spot. Will be lots of competition for the CL spots this season.

Brest has never played in Europe - and was reborn in 2004, its third iteration, soon achieving promotion to Ligue 2 led by a young Franck Ribery.

Segunda Division near impossible to call. Leganes are top but have lost six times. They are just nine points ahead of 10th place Oviedo, and just 13 points ahead of Tenerife, who are 14th.

The Spanish Football Podcast, which is always a great listen, have recently done a 4 parter on the history of transfers in La Liga. This is a focus on the most impactful and most controversial ones. Part 4 which came out today is in part on Di Stefano joining Real Madrid.

I didn't know the backstory to it, and the finer detail of why it became controversial. If you are interested in that kind of thing I would recommend it!

Also they cover Cruyff joining Barcelona, which is always a good story.

I like this. To celebrate their centenary, AIK of Sweden have released a replica of the kit they wore 100 years ago, and to commemorate it they had replica photos taken on a camera even older than that.

That's great.

Morton were bottom of the Scottish Championship a couple of months ago and looking terrible - but are on a charge and yesterday set an all-time club record of 16 matches unbeaten.

Now safely in 4th place and closing the gap on the clubs above them.

Also through to the Scottish Cup QFs. 12 of those 16 games unbeaten are in the league - after they lost 8 of their first 13.

Is a shame neither Ayr United nor Queen's Park could quite get over the line for promotion last season. Both struggling this. Will be Raith and Dundee United top two this season.

Inter win 4-0 against Atalanta and are now coasting to the title. With Juve's recent stumbles and Inter hitting form, they have pulled 12 points clear at the top

Was following the Copa Del Rey semi final last night between Athletic Bilbao & Atletico Madrid. Amazing to see what the Williams brothers are doing out there in Bilbao. Feels like that club are going through a really special period of time. Hope they can grab 4th spot in the league.

First 2 goals were Williams crossing to Williams, as has been happening this season

Well that's the end of his football career, he must be in his early 30s by now.
