Incredible game that was. Both sides, Rangers especially, looked poor during large chunks of that game.

Turkish SuperCup

Fenerbahce have a 4 month long tantrum about taking part.

They say they will send their under 19s team in the hope the Turkish FA will cancel the game, but they don't.

When they arrive they put in a team sheet of just 9 starters in the hope the Turkish FA cancel the game, but they don't.

Game kicks off.

Galatasaray score in the first minute.

Fenerbahce players walk of the pitch in protest hoping the Turkish FA will cancel the game.

Match abandoned after 4 minutes

Galatasaray named as Super Cup winners, yay!

Congratulations Galatasaray!

That's because they are awful. There's so little genuine quality in their squad. Celtic aren't any better but at least don't tend to lose crucial games.

They wouldn't finish top half in the championship

Both would probably struggle to get that high. Rangers bottled it as usual, still have the one fixture left this season to try again I believe (which they'll bottle again).

God Scottish football is so cr@p. Should move to 2 divisions of 20 clubs and upgrade the highland and lowland leagues into regional division 3s. Have just 2 games against each other, at least there'd be different faces playing rocking up each week, and the smaller clubs might get to have a crack at the traditional SPL sides now and again.

2 divisions of 20 would absolutely not work in Scotland. When you consider that the SPL is already a 3 tier league, padding that out with another 10 clubs, some of which would be part time would only add fuel to the Auld Firm wanting to leave. It wouldn't work. The SPL is actually an interesting League to watch. With 1 game left before the split, every club with maybe Hearts in 3rd as an exception, have something to play for and every game counts.

The football may be of a poor quality but it's easy to forget that Scotland is a country of 5m people. You look at countries of a similar population and they have leagues of 10-14 teams, clubs of a similar stature and leagues of a similar standard.

It's hilarious arguing with all the spfl fans on the sorare discord

They're deluded and think their league is better then English championship

And then I remind them that one of the top scorers last season was Kevin van veen and he couldn't make it in league 2

Agreed, and the clubs would never, ever vote for it because of the way everyone's finances are dictated by the Auld Firm. At the moment all the SPL teams get two home matches a season against Celtic & Rangers, which are just about guaranteed sell-outs. Those matches are a really significant part of their annual income, so no way would they ever agree to cut them in half.

For clubs like Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock maybe but I also think the cost of policing a visit from the Auld Firm isn't worth the extra 1000 people you'll get in your 5000 capacity stadium because their travelling support are absolute dicks. Outside the big cities, most places don't have the infrastructure to cope with it.

Como winning again. After a wobble they look back on track in 2nd place. 5 games to go.

Surely Bari can't go back down to the 3rd tier again?!

Out of all leagues, I think the Italian one is the most confusing

They have a mental play off system and clubs endlessly going from serie a to d for financial issues and then clubs randomly folding every so often

Their play off season is actually great, it's based on an advantage given to how you did over the league. I think it's better than ours. Search for it on this thread if you like, I explained it all.

They do have financial issues with clubs disappearing down to Serie D, that is true.
