When was the last time a “quality” player joined Spurs/Arsenal? /quote]

Bernd Leno
Christian Romero
Lo Celso
Martin Ødegaard
Thomas Partey
Kieran Tierney
Ndmobele
Sergio Reguilon
Stephen Bergwijn
Ben White

All players who were considered "quality" at the time of signing.

My fault - was meant to stay consistent with the world class theme - which was the initial point

In which case, it’s hard to argue any of those are world class. Perhaps Partey at an absolute push?

Either away, world class players simply don’t go to teams like Arsenal or Spurs anymore

Oh I would agree none of the above are world class, I was thinking more along the "quality" line. We are in agreeance.

Was surprised to see Odegaard is still only 22, seems like he’s been around for a little while now, must have been from an early age

Potential of Odegaard - ESR and Saka is high but all got to carry on striving to improve. Martinelli is talked about a fair amount too but he can’t quite get going

A few places seem to be saying that Man City have agreed to sell Ferran Torres to Barcelona for €55M + €10M

Yep. Kane is world class. Aubamayang too. Also, more world-class players makes teams better.

Was depressed to read on Twitter earlier a summation that if Sterling left City his career is basically finished. I hope we're not more broadly moving towards a view in football that if you're not playing for Madrid/Barca/PSG/City you're basically a no-one. That's just the prophecy self-fulfilling.

How many would get into the Liverpool or Man City squad?

5 of them can’t get into their own team

Tierney might make the City team if Cancelo plays on the right

You did say Bergwijn was considered quality. I understand the confusion

He was considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the time Spurs signed him. Try to improve your knowledge, be better.

 Absolute rubbish

He was being watched by Juve, Atletico Madrid and a few other Premier League sides. Why would they be after a player who isn't of quality?

I know you struggle at times to understand football but just try on this occasion before you make yourself look like a bigger fool.

Come on now, nothing is that bad.

I'm not going to argue with you about Steven Bergwijn, I'll save it for the next Reading fixture.

Have a great Christmas mate

Insigne leaving Napoli for Toronto at the end of the season. He's only 30, seems a bit of a waste.

I meant to post that along with just the same sentiment a few days ago. He is a sensational player, moving to the MLS at that age seems a right waste

I read that he was on £85k a week at Napoli and their new contract offer to him was at 50% less. Toronto are offering £175k a week basic + various bonuses.
