Portugal / Brazil + Cote d'Ivoire / North Korea

by bobbybottler » 25 Jun 2010 13:48

Just doing the honours.

Laying Portugal, I don't think they'll win, and the gubbing they gave NK last time has helped their odds v Brazil. Under normal circs I would expect Braz to ease up but we are being told this is a needle match so I am taking that at face value and assuming that Brazil will be more "up" for this one than might otherwise have been the case.

In the other match, I'd expect Cd'I to avoid defeat at least but I'm going to leave it alone.

Thaumagurist* I would like to see Bra-zil hand Portugal a really heavy defeat, like maybe 5-0 and Ivory Coast to win 5-0 - would this be enough to see Portugal get dumped out of the World Cup?

Yes it would.

Half expect Portugal to win, thus winning the Group and putting Brazil in England's half of the draw.

Brazil and Ivory Coast to win. Unfortunately not enough of a goal swing to allow the Portuguese to be dumped out - but there is always the reasonable possibility of them being gubbed by Spain or Chile in the next round.

The Beeb Sorry, but this is just pathetic. Ivory Coast are creating chances at will and after Didier Drogba turns and slams a ferocious volley against the underside of the bar, Romaric is on hand to head into an unguarded net. They could end up with 8, 9, 10, 11 - Portugal, beware.

The entire Portugese speaking casual workforce of Gatwick appears to be watching the game and not working. LOL.

This group became officially dead when Portugal beat NK 7-0. If the uber-defensive cheats had had IC up their arses they might have tried to win the game because a 0-0 coud easily go wrong. With the 7-0 they knew they were safe whatever happened, so 11-man defence it was. None of the pundits seem to realise that Portugal cannot score goals. An aberration against NK, but otherwise not a sausage.
