During their FA Cup run of a few seasons back, it was well publicised that there wasn't one single serving Police officer in their squad iirc.

Yes I think Paul is stuck somewhere in 1967.

Yeah - that one has passed me by - with cuts in police force, funding going, team names changing - i can see this one being vulnerable and yet another social media team incoming!

Someone on Twitter has done a good map of where the North teams are.

Now that is utterly ludicrous, hope they appeal and win.

Over 7500 round trip miles for away games with the furthest Blythe Spartans a whopping 544 miles away.

That's the round trip, Blyth is about 270 miles from Stortford.

Interesting to see a player at an academy type side linked to reading has signed for Sheffield United. Some goal scoring record and also turned out for Reading City. Increasingly convinced these sort of clubs will become more common in non league and be very boom and bust as good players move on. Academy/educational sides like Team Bath were back in the day.

If you see a population split of the country it's kinda spot on to how the conference north is set up with 50% of the population living south of bishops Stortford!

Personally think the travelling in elite non league is madness even some national League sides are part time I have no idea how they can do it in the North/south

15 years ago when refereeing this level only 4 of those teams were in this division. A number were in the Wessex League. 2 i regularly done are now in the Football League so hope for all.

Some great away days there for Basingstoke Town and they will push attendances up for a number of these clubs.

Just cant see how they are going to solve this other than doing an accumulated total of the mileage and move around those who are bottom / top etc.

AFC Aldermaston and Cove are the latest 2 to appeal the decision to put them in the Wessex league.
