Got to have some sympathy for Scunthorpe United fans who are suffering far worse than what we are.

Riddled with off-field issues for several years, their current chairman David Hilton has put the club up for sale this week and says will no longer be funding the club due to the amount of debt at the club including legal battles that are costing thousands a month, the club is currently going through a cost-cutting exercise in order to keep the club going.

They will play their remaining fixtures at Gainsborough Trinity's ground in the NLN as they move out of Glandford Park after legal battles with previous owner Peter Swan. Our situation may be dire, but at least we aren't Scunthorpe (or Southend).

Scunthorpe were the Madejski Reading of the lower leagues until a maniac bought the club and started spending and they've been paying the price of it ever since. Thought last season was the lowest for them and that they'd begin to consolidate and recover this year. What on earth is going on there now though, take it that it's some sort of dispute over ground ownership/tenancy? Thought, esp. in non-league that the authorities demand proof clubs can fulfil all their fixtures before a season starts to try and avoid this sort of thing.

Basingstoke behaving badly again. Maybe Paul the Royal will come out and speak out against the club rather than blindy support the homophobic and racist bunch of cnuts?

Official club statement is very positive, perhaps wishful thinking though.

Moving forward, the club can progress and challenge for promotion as originally planned. The playing side can be left relatively untouched and the debts cleared, but it will require supporters, sponsors and the community to be patient and continue to support the club the way they have done over the last few months.

first comment i have heard about Basingstoke Town fans causing trouble at this ground, perhaps a diversion. From what we saw and the video footage doing the rounds on Twitter, it was Winchester City fans causing grief behind the goal and scrapping amongst their own.

Crikey, that could be a right corker! And aren't the ties being played over the international break weekend so should be an easy sell out.

For the record Maidenhead are travelling to Weston, Dorking are at Horsham and Oxford City were drawn away at Scarborough Athletic.

....just to tidy up - not checked I've got everyone - but some other 'featured' sides in the 4th Rnd draw for ties on/around 14th Oct.

Braintree v Chesham
Eastleigh v Dover
Ebbsfleet v Slough/ Salisbury
Hemel v Woking

...and the Sh!ts have what ought to be a winnable tie (even for them 8) ) at home to Lewes.

Reading City’s U 18’s going well in the FA Youth cup. They beat Thatcham away 2-0 tonight in the 2nd Qualifying round.

Aldershot vs Lewes - expect the home side to win that one - then Reading FC in the first round - its happening!

Royals and Racers Bracknell home to Dagenham & Redbridge in FA cup draw

Crikey, that could be a right corker! And aren't the ties being played over the international break weekend so should be an easy sell out.

I wouldn't have thought so. Dagenham will bring maybe 300? I think it'll be over 1000, but not much more.
