"I kno' cos I wos there!" :P

Club coped very well with the big crowd (officially 934) - tho the bars were rammed and a bit slow to serve but sadly the team let them down on the pitch.

Two absolute howlers led in Cinderford midway thru the 1st half - and this is a side that (of late) don't give many goals away themselves.
Grabbed two more late on as 'Bassett' wilted rather at the back.

RWBT had a few 'moments' but never seriously threatened a recovery.

- Will be keeping a watchful eye over the next day or so for their other league games (due at Rivermoor Sat & B/H Mon above) & Cup obligations - expect they will fulfill the Cup game(s) at least - though could face a hefty fine if they can't scramble together a squad for the w/e games.
- are supposed to be at Tadley next Thu 9th in a Premier Challenge Cup 3rd Round tie i.e. 1 before the Q-Fs ! :?

Royals and Racers SB group owners of Sandhurst and Bracknell have issued a statement confirming that agreement has been reached for new owners taking over.

Is there any more on this as yet, is it known who the new owners will be?

Royals and Racers Burnham lost 3-0 at Hilltop and are out of the play-offs and Holyport are in and travel to Rayners Lane on Saturday.

...I was there too 8) (played at Beaconsfield) - decent game but Burnham mis-fired badly in front of goal and came up against a surprisingly good quality side in Hilltop.

Scoreline didn't quite reflect the ebb/flow of the match with 'Blues' dominating for long periods and hitting bar/post on numerous occasions but were ultimately unable to find a way through Hilltop's back line.
Eventually tried weight of numbers with 3, 4 or sometimes 5 up front, towards the very end but this left them light at the back against very mobile opponents and they were undone twice on the break in stoppage time.

Some very 'lively' followers for the 'hosts' - apparently there were even a few Holyport players/supporters among the 'away' following hence the quite exhuberant celebrations after the 2nd goal - scored just after the 90'??

-had a very talented bunch on the field this evening. Presumably their lowly position in the league is possibly down to availability - plus the surface at the Middlesex Stadium where they 'lodge' with Hillingdon Borough, hasn't often been that great in the past either.
Tonight on a 3G both sides were slick and sharp, in and out of possession. Burnham had the greater power hence their contention for the POs but too many of their forward runners had an off night.

Hilltop were formed mid-noughties - they had a Somali international in their ranks but he may have been 'poached' , couldn't see him listed in the programme?
- also their manager recently departed to run the National side
(not quite sure of my Horn of Africa Politics: Eritrea/Somaliland/Somalia/Djibouti etc :? ) were varied flags on show from the region.
Most of their playing squad are drawn from that community up in NW Lahnden - the club are named after a street (Avenue) in Stonebridge.
Rough luck on Burnham to find a side with the tension removed for their final game - they had stayed clear of relegation (just) and evidently out to enjoy themselves in the final few games.
Then again might be even tougher on Rayners Lane if they fail in the POs - especially vs Holyport - they finished over 30 pts above 5th place - though were deducted 4. Bedfont Sports on their day, might get past them but they need to overcome a resurgent Reading City in Saturday's other PO S-F

PS (as per Preview above) RBK got the point they needed last night to oust Molesey from the CCL-1 POs : now have a S-F vs British Airways due to be played at Bedfont's The Orchard this Sat PM. That is right next door to Reading City's attempt to get past Bedfont Sports in the Premier PO S-F.
- even with the much protracted end to the regular season, you'd have thought they might consider staggering the two ties.
Someone at the League or the two host clubs involved must have spotted the very real possibility of both grounds being required for POs scheduled for the 4th - neither club are blessed with particularly large parking facilities?? :?

Will be at Brackley tomorrow
Pretty much a sellout

And I think the player sent off at the end of the semi final has been cleared to play after an appeal. Nothing official about a sending off or an appeal. Very odd.

Fingers crossed they can break the play off hoodoo

I managed to get up to Scours Lane after the U21 game today - Woodley United vs London Samurai Rovers. First time I'd been there.

Based on the tally at the turnstile, there were 15 paying customers. Woodley won 3-0, with two goals disallowed for offside.

Could you take up supporting Leeds for the next couple of weeks?
