Do jersey and Guernsey and the IoW teams have to pay for the other teams to fly over and stay in hotels?

They must be rich clubs

Loafer Do jersey and Guernsey and the IoW teams have to pay for the other teams to fly over and stay in hotels?

There is/was certainly some kind of expenses arrangement in place for the flights and Yes, both NFL CI clubs are owned by wealthy individuals/consortia.
- they'd have to be rich/well-sponsored to fly to the mainland every other week?
- I don't think many clubs would opt/need to stay over - on Jersey/Guernsey: not even for midweek games.
It is also very unlikely any club would have to stay on the IoW for a match unless the weather prevents return travel so most probably a 'No' on that one. 8)

...and I'd imagine there's a case for people demanding to be paid for having to travel onto Canvey Island to play them or Concord 8)

...here's what did go ahead this PM:

Saturday 2nd March

NAT
AFC Fylde 4-1 Maidenhead United – ‘Magpies’ slip back to 19th and possible bother as those immediately below them have games in hand. That’s 5 defeats in 6 now.
Dorking Wanderers 4-1 Chesterfield – bit of shock for the leaders in front of the cameras at lunchtime?
Eastleigh 3-3 Solihull Moors
Oxford City 1-2 Aldershot Town
York City 2-3 Wealdstone
NATN
Brackley Town 0-0 Farsley Celtic
Darlington 3-1 Banbury United – ‘Puritans’ beaten by relegation rivals Darlo and stay in the bottom four.
NATS
Farnborough 1-2 Yeovil Town - att 1,880 at Cherrywood
Slough Town Ab. Bath City – att 1,406 2nd highest league attendance at Arbour
- as above – called off following a (home) supporter medical emergency – ‘Rebels’ 4-2 up at the time (c. 70’)
– reportedly Bath refused to resume when the Match Officials announced they were ready to do so.
Maybe where Scotty Davies is coming from in his views of the opponents and the incident?
- Supporter was said to be improving as he waited for the Ambulance.

SLP-C
AFC Sudbury 1-0 Hitchin Town
Needham Market P-P Stamford
Royston Town 2-4 St Ives Town
Stratford Town 2-1 Berkhamsted
SLP-S
Bracknell Town 1-1 Harrow Borough
Didcot Town 0-1 AFC Totton
Gosport Borough 1-2 Beaconsfield Town
Hendon 0-1 Chesham United
Swindon Supermarine 2-2 Tiverton Town - both Tivvy’s goals in stoppage time
Walton & Hersham 1-2 Hanwell Town

IL1-SC
Ascot United 2-0 South Park (Reigate)

CCL-PN
Broadfields United 2-4 Wallingford & Crowmarsh win lifts W&C away from the drop zone temporarily – the bottom two (Sumas and Hilltop) both have plenty of games in hand
Burnham 1-0 Edgware & Kingsbury

CCL-PS
Epsom & Ewell 6-2 Sandhurst Town
Jersey Bulls 2-0 Guildford City
CCL-1
FC Deportivo Galicia 2-1 Windsor
Langley 4-3 Westside
- got to this: played @ Honeycroft, Uxbridge FC. Langley roared into an early 3 goal lead but were pegged back – have suffered three pretty damaging defeats in their previous three league games and had slipped out of PO contention.
-Westside began to find space down both flanks 2nd half and nearly grabbed a point – levelled on 83’ only for the home side to win it right on FT

Hillingdon Borough 0-4 British Airways

HELL- P
Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-2 Corsham Town – att 256 – visitors win it late on 90’ and draw level with leaders Worcs City

SSM-P
Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 0-3 Harpenden
WESS-1
Ringwood Town 0-5 Whitchurch United

Think they have to pay for a set 22 return flight tickets per game - to cover a squad, coaches and support staff. Definitely need to be a wealthy owner to run those teams.

Not aware that is the requirement for teams from the IOW - they would not survive if thats the case.

Just saw that the crowd for Scunthorpe United 2 Chester 2 in the National League North on Saturday was

7,511.

For a match in the regionalised 6th tier. Incredible.

Beat the previous record of 6,311 set at Stockport V Spennymoor on their way to the former getting promoted in 2019.

Crowd was bigger than 4 games in League 1 and 5 in League 2.

How does that compare across Europe, what level would a crowd of 7511 generally be putting a team at in Scotland, Spain, Italy, France and Germany?

Hard to compare due to differnet structures.

Over here, the first regionalised division is at the 4th tier - and here you can get crowds ranging from 16k at Aachen to a few hundred.

Statement issued from Taunton FC- a depressing read mirroring our problems !!
Binfield making a great effort to get out of trouble- off the bottom now and games in hand to possibly claw back the deficit to the team above.

It's fascinatingly close at the bottom - only eight points separate Hartlepool in 10th place and Kidderminster in 23rd!

Most clubs still have at least nine games to play, so it's real squeaky bum time for so many of them.

Non league though. Every league and local FA is different with different levels of tolerance of various things. Be interesting to know what it was that happened and the overall context.
