It sounds all rather unfortunate. Bracknell look to be off the pace this year, but still decent, so it does give someone the chance to come in at a better time than usual for a manaager.

...didn't know about James McC. and his health issues / accident etc :( but normally, with what's gone on/off just a tad NW from Bracknell this week, you'd consider putting a fair wodge on Carl W. skipping back over to former pastures at Stubbs la.

However from the article it seems he doesn't feel ready for managing 'solo' at all yet - and the 'Moles' are hardly in a healthy position for him to settle into.....

...will ask my drinkininnge-ing mate tomorrow evening if he knows any more - he has some family 'contacts' around the club (Bracknell) :?

Boxing Day fixtures - not many 'lower' level leagues playing this year .... so a limited number of 'local doubles' on offer:

Boxing Day Monday 26th December

NAT
Aldershot Town v Woking
Dorking Wanderers v Oxford City
Maidenhead United v Wealdstone
NATN
13:00 Banbury United v Brackley Town
NATS
Havant & Waterlooville v Farnborough
13:00 Slough Town v Hampton & Richmond Borough

SLP-C
Berkhamsted v AFC Sudbury
13:00 Royston Town v Hitchin Town
13:00 St Ives Town v Kettering Town
SLP-S
AFC Totton v Basingstoke Town
12:30 Beaconsfield Town v Chesham United
Bracknell Town v Walton & Hersham
12:30 Didcot Town v Hungerford Town
Hayes & Yeading United v Hanwell Town
Merthyr Town v Swindon Supermarine
SL1-C
Aylesbury United v Kings Langley @ Chesham
Cirencester Town v North Leigh
Kidlington v Thame United

IL1-SC
Ashford Town (Middx) v Hanworth Villa
Chertsey Town v Thatcham Town
13:30 Marlow v Hartley Wintney
Northwood v Southall
13:00 Raynes Park Vale v Sutton Common Rovers
Uxbridge v Ascot United

HELL-1
12:00 Long Crendon v Kidlington Res

...No new 'ticks' to be had further afield, without some excessive BH M'way travel, hence the preference for more local stuff. Will review options on Tue AM: due to limited STEP05/06 offerings, are pretty sparse this year.
- Feasibly three 'early starters': 'Diddy'/Beaconsfield or possibly 11:00 KO @ Godalming (now in the Southern Combination League - or Sussex as was)
- From Didcot only viable one is Kidlington v Thame or at a real push Maidenhead Utd - which is a) a bit pricey especially if there's no cheap Xmas parking deals b) almost certainly arriving after KO and c) I've been once already this season.
- Holloways Park gives a far wider choice of 2nd games and Godalming permits me to return home in the gap if needs be.
- not sure if mate will venture out - he's not a fan of 'revisits'.
- from an "Anorak Perspective" the prevalence of 13:00/13:30 KOs can be quite frustrating :| - no real scope for a 'double' unless the other match is in the immediate vicinity .... or you're prepared to leave before the end/miss the start.
- and had LC been up against a 1st Team at Oxford City's ground (rather than Kiddy Reserves) I'd have considered that as a pretty fair option for Match i) as it offers an extra half-hour travel time.

Four Of Clubs Results from yesterday:

Saturday 16th December

Footnote: FC BAPCO moved into the last 16 of the FA Sunday Cup hammered Bournemouth-based FC Hadjuk 6-0 at Rivermoor this PM. Next Tie is a tough one at Baiteze from the Essex Sunday leagues - they usually play home games at Hackney Marshes but would expect they'll borrow somewhere slightly more 'comfortable' for this stage of the National Competition.

Dont want to be a pedant  but they haven't played at Hackney Marshes for a few years, that was the old Baiteze mile end and this one is a newer split team who play on some AstroTurf in Essex

Baiteze are a very very very good team, won the national Cup 2 years ago beating Highgate 2-0 in the final (who themselves are no jokes and are probably the best team in London, having won the London Sunday cup 3 times in a row and the Barnet Sunday League a few times aswell which is tough)

They lost in the Semis I think last year to St Joseph of Luton who won the whole thing (St Joseph got knocked out last round)

Baiteze are one of the 'Youtube' teams who have a very big following and post games on their channel so we should be able to see it

Here is their last 2 games in the cup they won both on penalties ( including beating the best team down my way in the County of Sussex) so they could be there for the taking (I have no idea how good Bapco actually are but they seem to have a few recognised names playing for them who play quite high up the league tables?)

1st round vs Bn Dons (Sussex)
https://youtu.be/6EoGsYBgHig?si=OAl_R37Fd9CP3vbu

2nd round vs Fryens (one of the Essex league champions)

....only going by their current social media output which mentions community/club/match events at Hackney Marshes.

... as does the escfl official site which included their County Cup win as recently as Sun 17th Dec at that venue.

...showing the forthcoming FA tie too under 'Fixtures'... so would have to assume it's one and the same team ?

Venue for that next round of the FA Sunday Cup v BAPCO is now showing on the official FA site as Barking FC

SUN 21/01 13:00.

Oh sorry my apologies then I didn't mean to make you out to be wrong or a liar! I'm sorry

Some of their videos are on AstroTurf in a cage so assumed they played there, maybe some cup games

Anyway should be a cracking game, Bapco have a GD in this competition of 29-0 so far I think

Either they're very good or the teams they've played very bad (doubt it)

...no offence taken  - and never any harm in aspiring to the ranks of us 'uber-Pendants'..... besides I have skin as thick as a doz. anoraks! :D

And ...it did take a bit of digging ... but fell into place once I managed to find their own league site Essex Sunday Corinthian League?

...other searches did suggest links to a club in the Hackney & District League and possibly the former version of the current club.

Like BAPCO round here ... fully expect they can call in some favours when it comes to borrowing facilities eg Cage pitches and astro etc....

...and BAPCO do have some current/recent Sat leaguers who hail from as high as STEP03 to 05 .... and their main sponsor is a playing squad member at Brentford - even listed as a registered player too  but doubt very much if he'd ever turnout for his 'own side' in anything other than friendlies..... probably not allowed under pro-contract/insurance reasons?

Yeah they are in the ESCL and there was/is a club in the Hackney league called Baiteze Mile End (very ill disciplined bunch, possibly got kicked out that league but that's muddy waters)

BAPCO might be favourites here, as Baiteze got their captain and best playrer known as "wonderboy" sent off for kicking the ball off the spot in the penalty shootout in the last video in frustration...

Not sure how far a team from our way has ever made it in this competition, assume BAPCO are one of the furthest? A team called Aylesbury Flooring won It 4 years ago if you count Aylesbury as from "round here"

... my memory is dissolving rapidly these days but am pretty certain I was in the crowd too :

...looking at the list of Finals though - I may well have got it wrong .... and I was there for the Theale win in 92 :?

Results from Boxing Day - managed an easy 'double'

Boxing Day Monday 26th December

NAT
Aldershot Town 0-0 Woking
Dorking Wanderers 0-2 Oxford City – ‘City’ stay in bottom four but are now only a point behind DW – though have played 2 games more
Maidenhead United 0-2 Wealdstone
NATN
Banbury United 0-1 Brackley Town –att 1,086 ‘Saints’ with the only goal inside 2’ – sides meet again on NYD @ 13:00.
NATS
Havant & Waterlooville 0-1 Farnborough
Slough Town 3-3 Hampton & Richmond Borough

SLP-C
Berkhamsted 0-4 AFC Sudbury
Royston Town 1-0 Hitchin Town
St Ives Town 6-0 Kettering Town
SLP-S
AFC Totton 2-2 Basingstoke Town – att 1,164
Beaconsfield Town 1-2 Chesham United –att 486 – ‘Generals’ with a very late winner 94’
Bracknell Town 3-0 Walton & Hersham att 425 – comfortable win for 'Robins' - after three defeats in four – goals from Vaughan and 2 from Espirit
Didcot Town 0-1 Hungerford Town – att 411
- was at this for Match i) – ‘Crusaders’ bossed most of a fairly uneventful game but couldn’t find their shooting boots as it were

Hayes & Yeading United 1-3 Hanwell Town
Merthyr Town 4-1 Swindon Supermarine
Salisbury 2-2 Winchester City – att 1,005 – ‘Winch’ nearly got all three points but ‘Whites’ grabbed a point on 95’
SL1-C
Aylesbury United 1-2 Kings Langley
Cirencester Town 3-0 North Leigh
Kidlington 2-1 Thame United
- Match ii) of the day for me - obvious and possibly only viable choice, once my mate had plumped for ‘Diddy’ as match no i)
– ‘Kiddy’ edged an ill-tempered scruffy affair against their fellow strugglers – were reduced to 10 men early on for their strikers’ witless lunge on the visiting keeper, every tackle made by ‘United’ from then on, was met with howls from all and sundry for the Ref to even up with another Red.
- Hosts held-on against a spirited 2nd half fightback, having extended the lead, somewhat unexpectedly, just before the break
- maybe just me and my deep-rooted Baaarks origin …. but I’ve always thought this sub-urban ‘N.Poxford annexe’ to be populated by some fairly unsavoury, unwelcoming and distinctly ‘odd’ individuals :? – though the Scottish lady in the tea-bar worked hard and was pleasant enough.

IL1-SC
Ashford Town (Middx) 3-5 Hanworth Villa
Chertsey Town 2-2 Thatcham Town – decent point for ‘Kingfishers’ at the leaders
Marlow 2-3 Hartley Wintney – att 265
Northwood 1-2 Southall
Raynes Park Vale 0-0 Sutton Common Rovers – RPV unable to benefit from ‘Curfews’ dropped points - as they were also held by mid-table opposition
Uxbridge 1-1 Ascot United - ‘Yellamen’ failed to keep the lead given them by Oliver Harris on 38’ – he was sent off about 5’ later– conceding on 88’

- ‘Moles’ (Binfield) were due to visit ‘Baggy Lea’ tonight (Wed 27th) but have been beaten by the weather.
elsewhere RWBT host Highworth (Hellenic Prem) and Reading City go to Burnham (CCL-Prem North).

HELL-1
Long Crendon 1-2 Kidlington Res
