Kind of sums it up really !!

Would still argue it would be a pointless deal anyway.

Bit like owning a Porsche but having no clothes and deciding to upgrade to a Ferrari 'because it's 10 x better' whilst forgetting you still have no clothes !!

I think we could afford to put him in a kit, even at £35,000 a week.

Katy1971 isn't a newbie. And I'm pretty sure she is/was a policewoman. I doubt she can be @rsed to post something just to wind people up, personally.

Katy 1971 I have it on good authority that Reading are currently negotiating with a top flight club bringing in a high earner to get this player off their wage bill to fund new players.

Rumours are that this player is Gareth Bale but that is unconfirmed - i do know that a high profile loan deal is on the cards.

Unable to reveal sources at this stage.

Dave Kitson

We're all thinking big name and it'll be Dave Kitson

I'd love it if it was Kitson.

I'd be straight down the Megastore to get my shirt with "Kitson 50" on the back.

im sure that by the time Sir Mad has scrutinised the finer detail so as to be 100% sure he only has to pay a small fraction of the reputed £35k this mystery player is earning, the window will have closed - Bale iappears to be going to Boro anyway, Sir Mad will be doubly happy

Alan Partridge
Deathy I will cream my pants if we sign him. Permanently would be amazing business, but I couldn't see it. There'll be a lot of clubs in the top flight wanting Bale, certainly the lesser sides like your Wigan's, Stoke's, maybe Newcastle.

I don't see how we need a defender, but isn't bad going forward and can then provide cover in defense, so maybe that's a plan.

Interesting though.

I know someone who knows Bale. That is all

14 posts screams wind-up to me.

As does signing a player on big wages, on loan, where we don't actually have a gap.

I'd rather have a specialist, and given Coppell's previous form so would he. We saw what fun playing a full back with attacking tendencies on the wing caused with Rosenior last season.

Bale short term on silly money to cover a possible departure playing out of position or Surman long term on half silly money ?

I dunno. It was the only thing I could think of - Bale's a wingback (in the way that he plays more than where he has played - damned 4-4-2) more than a fullback so it wouldn't be as out of position as could be suggested and his strengths come in his attacking game - crosses, freekicks, overlapping.

I think it would be audacious and risky.
Which is why I know it probably won't happen.
He's be a better player than most that we could bring in though.

I'll grant he's a good player, but we NEED a striker. Signing him helps us very very little. Should SHunt go, then we NEED a winger, not a wing back or attacking full back. No matter how good they are.

Tottenham have not had their fair share of quality at left back. Lee pyo (spelling), essou ekkoto (spelling), Bale (who should have turned out to be a good signing), and possibly Shorey (who has totally lost it since he played for England).
