If you went to games he would recognise that Guthrie has been the key player on the pitch in the last three games and to sell him would be foolish, luckily for everyone, we won't. Akpan or Leigertwood would be my bets to be sold off.

southbank1871 Oof.

Just trying to point out that Guthrie really has sorted himself out under Adkins, he is still moody on the pitch sometimes and perhaps isn't the most patient player in the world but his range of passing, his touch, his creativity, all lead me to believe he will be a key man in midfield this year.

He had a poor 2nd half against Ipswich as well.

Are you completely mental?? Guthrie had a great game against Watford and he was pretty good against Ipswich. I think some of you STILL don't like him after his fall-out with McD - well look who is still here and look he got booted out....Guthrie is excellent.

He's had fairly good half's of games but he has yet to keep it up for a whole game.

I'm not sure any of them have really done it for two halves of any one game.

Vaughan would be an excellent addition. Adkins has had long enough to look at our midfield and see who can adapt to his passing game, and who isn't quite ready yet (Akpan..)

If we play three in the middle, then there's a clear case for another central midfielder.

A proven striker is much more necessary at the moment, I'd say. And a good looking one at that - none of this ugly nonsense. No one has ever come NEAR to Gary Heale mind.

Hey. Here's an idea.

Maybe the club is capable of negotiating for more than one player at a time :?:

Does anyone know if this is possible :?:

Agreed but we weren't discussing all of them though we were discussing Guthrie.

Would you welcome a player who could score 25 goals a season but looked like a dog's bum-hole?

I think we need to talk about Guthrie and what he did last season. It just doesn't get enough discussion time on the board for my liking.

honestly i cant believe im still amazed by the idiotic post and opinions of players on this forum! Reading have played some of there best football in years this early season and guthrie has been one of those players that has been essential in that!go to games! stop watching it illegally on a small computer then you may see whats really going on! we have a famtastic team with an extra striker we can really excel. Play like we did against watford we could win the league and deff will get promoted! we wasnt that poor second half of that game, yes we let watford get back into it but they are also a top team where i feel them aswell as us will get promoted.

go to the mad stad watch the game cheer on your team and open your eyes!!!
