Croat Striker and free agent Mladen Petric was at Readings ground late this afternoon with his agent. Medical tomorrow morning

That's a bit random. Who?

32 year old Croatian international, 6 foot 1. Scored 5 in 23 for Fulham last season and 38 in 98 games for Hamburg over the 4 season before that.

Previous to that; 13 in 28 for Borussia Dortmund, 38 in 72 for Basel and 30 in 114 for Grasshoppers. Also played for Baden

Would seem to me the boy has goals in him....

Seem to remember we said that about someone else who'd scored half a dozen goals for Fulham at the end of the previous season.

The two players quoted by Nigel Adkins as joining the club are firstly as expected Joseph Akpala, but additonally Liam Bridcutt who is the 'close to home' player that Adkins referred to. Both deals are expected to be completed over the weekend with the double announcement next week.

Pog scored a hat-trick EARLY in his Fulham career, then just 3 goals in the rest of his season

He joined FFC in January last year and scored the hat trick in March. He was released by FFC at the end of the season. His debut was in February and all his appearances, therefore, were towards the end of the season.

Pog scored 1-1-3 goals in his first 3 appearances (235 minutes) = a goal every 57 minutes

He then scored 1 goal in the next 9 appearances (728 minutes) = a goal every 728 minutes (13 times worse)

I seem to remember hearing that he often starts with a bang at clubs then fades

2 in his first 5 Prem games for RFC (381 minutes)

then 6 blanks

then 3 goals in 3 games (280 minutes)

then zero goals in 12 appearances (893 minutes)

In the season before Fulham he got 5 goals for Stuttgart in his first 6 games, then 3 from 20 in the rest of the season
and he got just 1 goal in 14 appearances (567 minutes) for Stuttgart before he went to Fulham

he is clearly a striker who goes on long barren runs

FWIW I would love for Reading to have a player from Brčko, so count me IN for Petric.

Hamburg by the way.

How do we know all those 26 appearances were starts? He scored 4 goals between August and October, he didn't play between the 22nd Oct and December 10th. Played once more in December then played at the end of Jan a couple of times. Then he was pretty much a first choice till the end of the season (No starting/Sub stats available) So maybe, if he was starting he was playing for more than just his goal exploits.

The middle of his season was disrupted by injury or being out of favour so not everything is black and white Snowball.

Who's Bridcutt ? Never heard of him.

Nonsense rumour. He'd cost minimum £3m, and some Brighton fans think he should be worth more than double that. No chance whatsoever.

Yeah, simple logic, which is why I was iirc the only one on here who said he'd be pants fir us in the prem, which he was.

HNA went ape of course as it does whenever a signing is questioned.

Still, at least someone in HNA is catching up... ;)

£20 says that we are linked with Bridcutt every summer for the next three years, and we never sign him.

Being born in Reading doesn't mean you are going to sign for Reading...

Going back in time I think we had the same effect with Plymouth's Leigh Cooper
