RUMOUR: Pearson to Reading

by MmmMonsterMunch » 19 Nov 2015 12:40

May as well have a new thread for this. Please be true. Pearson is a major upgrade on Clarke IMO. I really like him.

Also Reading are currently locked in talks with Fulham and demanding serious compensation so until those talk conclude successfully it's business as usual.

Let's not demand too much compensation though :D

We need to make sure he does actually go now as his position is untenable regardless. Does make you wonder if this has been in the offing for a few weeks......................

Our performances of late have not been great. I think Pearson is a great character. Come on Sassima get him in.

Remember though it's probably Kevin Keen and possibly Steven Reid and Dave Beasant that may also be going so there's that angle to cover as well.

Interesting point is the backroom staff of Pearson. Ranieri kept them all on at Leicester.

Pearson has worked with Craig Shakespeare, Steve Walsh and David Mills at a few clubs.

Also, I note from one of the Fulham message boards that NP was interviewed for the job but turned them down.

Who's Zach Connor? Anyone could have written that about anyone.

It's amazing that these incoming managers always take the train.

Hi all, newbie on the forum. Just to say I'm a Leicester City fan, and if you get Nigel you are very lucky. The Leicester players worshipped him, and played their hearts out for him. Moreover most Leicester fans also loved him, and would have him back in a flash. Hope you get Nigel, and if you do Reading will have another supporter...ME !

I think the whole "Lunatic Pearson" is a bit overplayed to be honest. There were a couple of incidents last season but I'm sure I read recently that he'd had a chat with Fergie who'd advised him to be a bit more aggressive and adversorial as it looked like he was just accepting Leicester's slump. Up until then I'd have marked Pearson as pretty dull and ordinary on the bench and in press conferences.

None of it should take away from the ludicrous achievement of keeping them up last season given where they were at one stage.

I can't see him coming here though to be honest.

Could see him ending up at Newcastle in January if the wally with the brolly carries on his good work for another couple of months. I think the Geordies would be a good fit for him and a step up in terms of potential from Leicester.

Temporary charge for one game after Roeder was sacked and he was assistant, seven years ago now though. Lot of water under the bridge since then!
