morganb Against Cardiff it was, according to C1871, 'Super Joe Lumley in goal". One week on and he's the worst keeper since Virginia. Wonder what he'll be on Wednesday?

He should start on Weds as unless there is a clause in his contract, he cannot start on Saturday.

Given it was one game and he has otherwise looked solid, yes. If yesterday is the level he puts out consistently, then no.
The ironic thing is, of course, these posters (or at least most of them), certainly wouldn’t be bumping this thread the other way around. People’s desires to look “right” are strange. Although finding it equally strange people going on about Southwood in a negative manner
Lumley will win us games and lose us games - I.e. the life of a goalkeeper
Bumping this thread? No, probably not. But they'd be praising good performances.
It's certainly tempting when you get a load of shit for expressing an evidence based concern that later seems founded to get the sstisfaction of pointing out you were wrong to be dismissed. Because you'll rarely get anyone volunteering that you called it right. It's not really about looking right but vindication.
Obviously still too early to say how Lumley will go. But early signs are pretty much in line with the boro feedback and lowlights reel.

Wouldn’t actually aim this at you specifically but just find it strange the number of people who stay quiet when a player they don’t like performs well but as soon as they put in a bad performance, they coincidentally crawl out of the woodwork again
Like myself with Meite - really didn’t think he was much use for us when he first came in but happy to admit he’s become an crucial part of the squad (that is, if he stops getting injured)

Gus the teenage cow We have no goalkeeper we can trust currently.
We should loan an experience premier league goalkeeper.
Lumley is a confidence player and this could already be a fatal blow to any hopes he can perform to an adequate level this season.

Van der Kwaak and Virginia are upset you've forgotten them. And Mannone, Howie, and half a dozen in the last years at Elm Park would like to be part of the conversation

Yep - was a fantastic save and just the sort of thing needed after Saturdays horror show
Although it was a rather weak punch from their corner before their strong penalty appeal IIRC - couldn’t see too well so could be wrong
