WestYorksRoyal I tried to copy the trick on FM26 but Rinomhota got snaffled by Bristol City. SI sports clearly see him as Championship level.

Interesting I have also done a couple of runs with us on FM26. Making these 2 signings and spending any money on a gd striker. Haven’t managed not to get promoted in the first season yet. Shows how much we need another striking option. Or could mean nothing….

I'm only 1 game in, and have a 100% win record. I have heard anecdotally that the big revamp has created an easier game. And generally, even on older versions it's easy to get lower league teams promoted. There's very little between the teams in L1 and L2, so pick a sensible formation and you do well. It's when you climb higher and face bigger budgets and better players that the challenge starts.

Lesson is that in real life it won't be as simple as signing a striker in January and getting promoted

The Beta was riddled with problems as it's moved to a new game engine and a load of people who pre-ordered slagged it off mercilessly on line as if the Beta was the finished game.

The subsequent patches seem to have vastly improved it which is pretty much how the game always evolved 20 years ago.

I'm holding fire on buying a copy until after Christmas

Cheers, might pick it up in a sale.

I think its all got a bit complicated for me. I really cba to try to piss about with training schedules and pre-planned match scenario auto changes. And all the social media stuff can get to oxf*rd.

You could just set all that as your assistant manager's responsibility. Obviously I've not played FM26 so can't comment on that iteration specifically but you really can set it to be as immersive as you want.

Wasn't Randell a short term deal? Do you think we'll extend

Also any idea when we'll see a prolonged spell of Rino?

The only reason I can think of that we wouldn't extend is if his injury is worse than it looked and he's out quite a while. He has previously had a lot of issues with injuries, which is why we had him play multiple games with the Academy before we gave him a contract. But if it's not bad and he won't be out a long time, we'd be mad not to extend. He's not without issues, but he's been excellent in general.

Yes the initial deal is now expired. Hoepfully he’ll extend, quite like him. Bit of pace, can cross the ball

Really hope Rino is back shortly as well, obviously more impt things for him at the moment but could do with him

Williams’ current deal is up next week. Reading will need to move quick if they want to keep him as rumour is Randell’s form has been noticed by other L1 clubs.
