His knee has been fine over the past few seasons.

Any player could sustain a long term injury at any point so there is always an element of risk.

Get him in I say.

Definite yes pls from me.

Would be delighted with any of the 3 that have been bandied around so far though.

Would be much happier with Austin rather than Sharp

agreed in general, but financially the club presumably covers themselves with insurance policies etc - which is probably more difficult/expensive to obtain with a known problem

Whole lotta nothing in the media really on Reading and their search for a striker. All very non-commital and vague. Consists of; Sharp available for £1m, might put in a £2.5m bid for Austin now he's been found to have a dodgy whatever and we've met with Hooper's reps.

This is something the club are actively pursuing according to all so I presume it's happening slowly but just wish it would finally come to a head....

Remember a player being denied a big transfer due to a medical - he had a hole in the heart. Bizarrely, I keep thinking it was Asa Hartford, but I may be wrong. He moved to a different club who ignored the medical and proved to be a good bit of business.

Yep, Asa Hartford was definitely diagnosed with a hole in the heart. Remember it well.

No to more injury prone players. Move on to Sharp or Hooper.

Burnley fan seems to think he'll come here.

Charlie Austin looks to be on his way to Reading, chaps! I came on here many moons ago to tell you he was coming from Swindon to us! Burnley have accepted a 2.8m offer (contrary to the £2.5m reported). We can't afford to let him go for nothing next summer and the club will be relieved to get his 'off-field problem' off our hands.

Does anyone else think the medical at hull was more about his rumoured "off field problems"than his knee?

Austin and Le Fondre would make a great partnership, would get 50 goals between them easily in Championship.

No

They wouldn't have bothered with him at all if that was a problem

I would be extremely happy with Le Fondre, Austin, Pogrebnyak and Blackman as our 4 to choose from. If Roberts gets fit thats an added bonus plus we have Samuel.

I thought that might be the case, does anyone know if football medicals include a drugs test? I'd be surprised if they didn't. I know the talk around the Hull medical was that it was a surprise but no reasons given.
