 You read it here first. Though I think Tisdale won't get it either.

At least thankfully, it isn't Holloway.

It`s looking good for Brendan Rodgers. All these amusing new manager threads and this is the first one where everybody has spelt his name correctly.

Well if the report in todays EP is accurate looks like we are going in the first instance for people not currently attached to other clubs. Having said that I dont think Sir J would entertain either Pardew or Sanchez. I still have a feeling its going to be Eamonn Dolan.

Well that would rule Dolan out then since he's attached to a club

Did you not notice that "other" preceeded "club"

'Lingo' has had a few quid on himself at Ladbrokes by all accounts.

Probably why all the bookies have closed betting apart from Victor Chandler then!

Bah! I've been saying since before Coppell resigned it wouldn't be Rodgers. Thunder stealer.

Tommy Jones If we, the fans, and the everyone at the club are prepared to give Brendan Rodgers time to develop his own team playing his passing game, then Im all in favour.......But lets remember this could take anything between 3 to 5 years before we can expect to reach such dizzy heights again !!!

That was the trouble with some of our fans and even a few now moan about how we tried to pass it too much without having many shots on goals for a whille (probably the same ones who wanted Boothroyd put ASAP even when we doing well under him)

I am sure if Brendan is your choice then our board would want to get the deal done ASAP so we can bring in a new manager (or probably more likely appoint with the limited funds etc from within)...

To many contenders and too little knowledge about them for me to put money ON anyone. But I'm willing to nail my colours to the wall that Rodgers, Poyet & Boothroyd definitely won't get it. I'm leaning towards Curbishley simply because I don't think a lot of the others are any good / right for us.

Agree - much too risky. Wouldn't want to come here and throw he's weight about in the transfer market - could be an expensive gamble.

i cant help but think Curbishley would want to get the Charlton days back and to be honest he couldnt get closer than us at the moment. Had his fingers burnt at West Ham with stacks of cash and wants to go back to what he knows best.

Out of any candidates he has surely got to be far and away the best bet, subject to him wanting it that is.

Failing that i can hear the press conference now:

"Ladies and gentleman we have searched long and hard for the right man for RFC, and i take great pleasure in introducing our new manager Mr Glenn Roeder"
