If he does go I don't think it would be for more than £8m. I read somewhere that £10m would make him the 7th most expensive keeper ever.

If he did it would be for about 4 million plus addons....

I prefer McCarthy to Feds but if we can get 10m for McCarthy I would take it. Federici still one of the best keepers in the league.

The Defence isn't complete yet. Would hate to see our best Keeper go. The Championship is won by who concedes least and scores most, we are short in both areas.

Urgh, what? Where in the defence do we need strnegthening then, weirdy opinion person?

LB's...

1st) Bridge
2nd) Kelly
3rd) Cummings - suitable cover

RB's...

1st) Gunter
2nd) Kelly
3rd) Cummings

CB's...

1st) Mariappa
2nd) Pearce
3rd) Morrison
4th) Gorkss
5th) Hector

The only possible area to improve is shipping our Gorkss and bringing in or through a 4th choice CB.

I fink we're pretty strong in defence?

If Mariappa and Gunts would like to come and defend me one evening then I'm sure I'll feel very safe. :P

How frequently has that even been the same team?

McCarthy will be sold next month [100%] and a chunk of the money will help us bring in a striker, I'm told today. Quote me happy!

I'd be more disappointed if we didn't have Federici to fall back on, and whilst we have seen fantastic investment in the players already brought in, the club does still want to run sensibly, so this makes absolute sense. Some money goes back into the club, and the rest back into the team. Can't argue with that.

It doesn't say concedes the least and scores the most, so the sentiment is about right. In my long experience of playing and watching football I have found that the team that scores more than the opposition on most occasions wins most matches.

Not sure whether Mccarthy not playing today means he's going or just the fedders and taylor have to fight it out for number 2. Thinking it might mean he's going since Taylor clearly isn't going anywhere and there's no talk of fedders leaving.

Or he's been in training less time and you can only give two 'keepers a half.

He's on his way to Liverpool.

Stuck in traffic by all accounts.

5 days ago Alex tweeted that his legs were in bits but loving preseason. I would suggest that he is a few days behind the rest of the squad in terms of fitness due to England duty and that is why he did not play today. Nothing else to read into it.

Exactly that! But the kids need something to moan or flap about.

To expel the conspiracy theory of the shirt numbers Alex is in 21 in the photos now from todays Facebook Portugal update. I guess that proves Nigel or Nicky read Hobnob and take it serious.
