paddy20 As I understand it Drenthe or Williams were not Adkins choice. Now that AZ is not around he doesnt have any pressure to play them. Drenthe is a one trick pony and Williams is pretty lightweight. Adkins is simply choosing his best team. I'm sure injury is a comfortable way of saying not really in my plans. Just a pity he couldn't have handled the Kebe situation a bit better as I think had we kept him we be able to create more chances for the forwards.

And why/how do you understand that?

Without revealing exactly, AZ signed him. I think, but I am not sure, Williams also, as he is a good mate of Drenthe

:| They didn't even know each other until they joined Reading.

Royalwaster Drenthe and Williams are injured - end of conspiracy.

Are they? They both took knocks in the Leeds game. But they both still managed the full ninety. That was 6 weeks ago. Something doesn't add up.

Last Thursday afternoon, interviewed at Hogwood, NA gives an injury update.

'"The group that played last weekend are all good which is important. It's nice that Billy Sharp has done a bit more on the grass today (Thursday). Is it going to be too soon for the weekend? Probably.''

"It's similar with Alex McCarthy - though it would be very difficult to leave out Adam Federici anyway after his performance last weekend."

Adkins also touched on a number of our first team players who have been suffering with longer term injuries.

"The long term injuries are obviously Jem Karacan, Jason Roberts and Mikele Leigertwood. Jem has just started the rehab of his knee injury. It's been frustrating for Mikele Leigertwood, but what a top professional he is and a top bloke. I feel sorry for him because he's worked so hard, he's had one or two little niggles that have set him back a bit but he's dealt with that. The sooner he gets back and is available the better.

And obviously we've got Royston Drenthe and Danny Williams who have been injured since the Leeds United game."

Almost an afterthought. No details given. No wonder fans put 2 and 2 together and make 5.

super darren caskey Give me Jimmy any day

Oh Jimmy how i miss you :-(

I suppose it we want to have a player who misses countless games through injury, is a slow healer and decides whether and when he wants to play, then he was as good as anyone!

Didn't bother to give an update on Roberts at all other than to mention him as a long term injury:

' Well Jason's been working really hard - trying to find and establish offence where there isn't any'

I thought Drenthe had tweeted or instagrammed or something that he was going to be back within 2 weeks? Anyone else see this?

We seem to be doing ok without Drenthe and Williams, so best thing is get shot of them in January.
We do not miss Kebe, although I suppose as he never played that is not difficult.

Bring on hungry youngsters, not fat out of condition journeymen. Never wanted us to sign Drenthe
and have seen nothing from him to make me change my mind the man is trouble with a "T".
Williams jury still out, seems to be the new sick note player, having replaced Kebe. Has not done anything
to justify his high wages.

I suppose one day the truth will come out, is Drenthe injured? What is the position with the Ledge?,is Williams
the new Kebe? Will Roberts ever play again and why did we give him a longer contract? Was Billy
Sharp signed to give the Pog a kick up the backside? Where is the Russian owner? Has Sir John exciled him to the Siberian Gulags?
Is Sir John Mad trying to buy out the Russian?
Will Obama buy Reading Football Club as part of his devious plan for a One World government. Is Sir John´s mobile hacked?
Follow the next exciting episode of Reading Football Club , the club with more mysteries than an Agatha Christie story.
Remember you can follow, the intrigue only here in HNA. In glorious black and white.

why did we give him a longer contract?

Roberts activated a clause in his contract. Nothing we could do about it.

How do the conspiracy theorists explain away that Drenthe & Williams are at the open day signing autographs?
