Heard we are still looking at him. Even with Leam at the helm now.

Well the recruitment crew haven't changed and the chances are high MOM isn't sticking around. And he may be followed by Burns and Doyle.

He's scoring at a rate if 1 goal every 179mins this season - so no surprise that if we liked him before, our view is not really going to have changed.

Feels pretty damning of the recruitment and perhaps Hunt as well, that we've essentially wasted all our loan slots for half a season.

Some signings don't work out. And it's hard to get first team ready loans.

If I were Noel, I'd be a little pissed at his brother.

And I would say only MOM and Burns have been actively poor of the loans

Loan market is tricky to navigate though, the scouting team at Reading would need to have a very good understanding of the youngsters at other clubs to find the hidden gems and while some youngsters maybe outstanding and obvious targets the next issue is the parent club thinking that letting them drop into the third division is what they want for their development, esp. if they're at a top PL club. I expect they thought the current chaps were worth a punt but none have sadly impressed so far - which might well be the fault of the management as much as anything (esp. with Doyle who showed well at Exeter & Crawley last year).

A club like Reading should only be taking loans if they're adding to the first team, they shouldn't take them just to get the odd cup game.

Also, you're requiring players who can hit the ground running. If any of our loanees were one of our youth players (possibly excluding Jacob), for example, they wouldn't be facing the same level of criticism. It's because people expect loanees to perform at first team level instantly where the problems lie.

Of course, we're also not the first choice for any of the better young talent from Premier League academies. They'll be wanting loanees to be playing in the Championship, so we're likely to only have the option of players with weaknesses in their game which need to be resolved through match experience. I'm not sure we're a club who'll persevere with them (whilst we're in League One) unless we have to or we think those issues can be resolved quickly.

Random twitter account stating we are about to complete his signing - so he'll be off to Gillingham then.

Like Reading are going to sign another forward (for what would have to be currently serious money for the club) esp. one that’s not been to Bradford or played for Wigan .

Maybe another forward isn't so far fetched! he prefers a 3-5-2 formation or so we're told and has used it in the past with a fair amount of success. He's just strengthened our FB's allowing Dorsett to move back as cover for the back three. Having two starting forwards means probably 4 forwards on the books!
Maybe he's slowly transitioning to this shift in formation? I guess we'll find out in a few weeks. :D

I do wonder whether he will stick at the moment with the formation or go 4-4-2. Both Nyambe and Robert’s are not known for bombing forward as wing backs more a solid back 4.
Also I am not sure whether Keane is seen as cover for Doyle as he can play that role aswell.
So either way Hale would make sense and he has handed in a transfer request so going somewhere.

Good shout Linkenholtroyal, plus changing to a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 pretty much the same would mean DK and Lane struggling for game time as the width comes from the WB's! I guess we will just have to wait and see.

We haven't got any wing backs, already been stated that Nyambe and Roberts don't bomb forward!
