One presumes, given his time here last season, that had Reading wanted him then they would have got him.

Or perhaps it’s a sign the club just can’t compete with the likes of Stevenage :lol:

No disrespect to Stevenage but you would think that if a player had the choice between them and Reading under new ownership, that we would be more likely to be promoted. So rather odd if he had both options and chose them. Perhaps we didn’t want him, wouldn’t give him sufficient assurance about being first choice, or we weren’t that bothered one way or another.

On the whole thought he was a tad average last season and so hopefully our excellent recruitment team can find a better option.

Good luck to him at Stevenage, he did a job for us but not a huge miss. He'll get plenty of game time there

in an interview last week (I think), Couhig said that he has to be careful about what he says because of the players they are speaking to and those they are not speaking to. Struck me as an unusual comment, and it suggests that some players who may have been expecting a call won't be getting one. I think Campbell was one of them.
