CountryRoyal Button and Rushesha close appaz.

Can only happen if that debt is paid. So if this is the case then sounds hopeful

Button when he was very good was very much the ball playing keeper iirc. So quite possibly a hint of what how we’ll try to play

Need to be looking at a CB if/when this debt is paid. Holmes and McIntyre, collectively are too easy to play against. Not dominating or physically imposing enough. How many times do we concede from crosses (a problem dating back for a while now). Simply put, they don't keep clean sheets. You can't keep relying on scoring 2/3 a game to win. Will Dorsett/Abbey/Mbengue (who I do like) solve the issue? Not likely unfortunately

Game has somewhat evolved in recent years but two of our better defenders post Prem have been M.Morrison and McShane. Old school defenders. Sure, not great on the ball (visions of McShane in particular panicking each time he was under pressure under Stam) but they knew how to win games 1-0 - something that's been really lacking these last few seasons. Sarr should have helped somewhat but even amongst our shambles at the back last season - he was one of the worst performers.

It's not just the CB's - lack of pressing intensity high up the pitch, lack of closing down all over the pitch, fullbacks allowing the crosses in, non-existent midfield etc etc. It's a collective issue but at the same time - the defence has to apportion a large amount of the blame for having one of the worst defensive records of the 92 in successive seasons.

Is Dean still with the club or has he given up now and decided pursue another season in football?

Royalwaster Does Brogue actually have a source inside the club or is his source Twitter?

I would expect Dean along with the other trialists to run a mile tbh. If Dai was around yesterday it’s worrying that he was unable to pay the tax bill.

Brogue can’t help it if his sauces have been fed a pack of lies by Dai.

Only those trialists who haven't been affected by "The Curse of Bearwood" will be able to run, the rest will hobble away slowly or be carried off on a stretcher...

we've been free of the embargo for a couple of days now, it just takes time for the EFL website to update

So dai was claiming he was about to pay the bill after he’d already paid it? Interesting approach

Errr what? The clearing of it is the whole part of the problem

Anyway, who are we lining up do we think. Expecting to see

Button
Rushesha
Dean

And a couple of loans before the end of next week. Would love Stansfield to be one of them

If Stansfield and Fiorini were lined up then the fact they haven't gone elsewhere suggests that I can see them being announced asap - Button/Rushesha are all but done we are led to believe, so could also be confirmed today/tomorrow.

Thing we need to be aware of is the club would still have been talking to players and lining up deals knowing this would be paid, so announcements could be quick. Not quick enough to play Saturday but certainly to be available for the trip to Vale.

Forgot about Button. The twitter meltdown will be fun when he's our only signing before the weekend.

It will be a busy day in the office today, but i fully expect Savage and Wing to be registered in time and i have a feeling that Rushesha and possibly Button may also be announced first thing tomorrow morning.

Savage and Rushesha should be match fit and Wing has been training with us for two weeks now which should be more than enough time for at least a place on the bench!

Not sure about Button, i guess its more about getting used to your team mates than being super fit lol.

I'm pretty sure Bowen has been kept in the loop and has had everything prepared and ready to go as soon as they had word the embargo was lifted. I don't think it'll be on par with the Tommy Burn's "Super 7' day all those years ago but i think we may see a good handful of players announced tomorrow, at least i hope this is the case :D

Yeah, that would be a big boost. I half expect him to turn up at the PT.

Rushesha should be quick and simple

Dean was at the qpr game which was just before the embargo announced so assume they were aware. He’s been training there for a while so would also be fit and available if he is still keen

Sounds like there is stuff for wba to sort with button so possibly not as easy as the others
