RUMOUR - David Cotterill

by tomrfcurz » 04 Jan 2012 17:55

The Mail today reporting Swansea and Reading in discussions to bring Cotterill to the Mad Stad. Doesn't sound too out of the question to me - it's looking as if we'll have a gap in the position with the seemingly imminent departure of Kebe.

Looking like it'll be a loan til the end of the season with a view to a free transfer in the summer depending on performances. Rodgers still has strong connections and a fondness for RFC - maybe not some of the board, certain fans etc but he was brought up on RFC and it doesn't seem unlikely he'd be willing to let one of his fringe players come to us. The Mail also reporting interest from Leicester for Jimmy Kebe (great journalism...)

Its in the paper itself, can't find link online except one where it says Swansea are looking to get rid on loan along with a couple of others, one was Orlandi.

Antonio is most likely as good as Cotterill - why would we want a player that Swansea did not even rate at this level - let alone at PL level.

We would be doing Brendan a favour - not the other way round.

This link from yesterday mentions our interest in him, at the bottom of the article:

Just been released by Swans http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/ ... 23,00.html

I'd actually be happy with this. Good player, just lost his way a bit at Swansea. Put in Sinclair with a superb ball for their goal at the mad stad last season

Pepe the Horseman On his way to Cardiff

Well that would be on his route out of Wales if he was using the M4.

Surely worth a punt on 18 month contract, especially if Kebe goes, gives us some added competition

He is apparently training with Leicester (given up on Kebe then?)
