SPECULATION: Andrey Arshavin

by LightwaterRoyal » 28 Jul 2012 10:48

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2179815/Andrey-Arshavin-Fulham-radar.html

''Fulham are considering a swoop for Arsenal outcast Andrey Arshavin.
Zenit St Petersburg are leading the race to resign the Russia international, but Arshavin's preference to remain in London is hindering the deal.
Arshavin's wife Julia is expecting their third child, and they are keen to school their children in London.''

''Arshavin, who hasn't travelled with Arsenal on the club's pre-season tour of Asia, is deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium, and could be sold for just £1million.
Fulham haven't made a firm offer for the 31-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his current deal and would have to take a cut on his £80,000-a-week wages.
Qatari side Al-Sadd are also hopeful of sealing the signature of Arshavin.
The ambitious Doha-based club are seeking a second big-name signing following the capture of Spanish legend Raul.''

Surely Anton and Pavel could have a word, a steal at 1m.

from earlier this month: http://www.rt.com/sport/football/arshav ... tball-288/
"Lakhter said that are still some a chance Arshavin will stay in the English Premier League, joining the competition’s rookies from Reading, owned by Russian billionaire, Anton Zingarevich."
cant see it myself, even IF we were interested.

A fantastic player who lost his way at Arsenal, if we have any chance at all of singing him, it would be a massive coup for the club, can't see it happening though unless Anton see's this as another pog style challenge!

He's on 80k a week, but Id love him here, Im sure Pavel and Anton would help him get back on track, Reading isnt too far from London for him.

I cant see it happening but I would love to have him here, on his day he can beat anybody, tore Barcelona to peaces a few years ago if I remember correctly.

He's technically great, but he must surely be outside our price range, and also, I just don't think he's our sort of team player from what I've seen of him. We'd probably appeal in that he'd be the big fish in a little pond, but he just strikes me as being a bit ball greedy to the detriment of his team.

Ian Royal but he must surely be outside our price range

The figure Daily Mail reported Fulham offeriring is 1million, although the link plroyals posted says Arshavins agent reckons hes worth 10 million euros, roughly 8 million pounds.

At the end of the day hes only worth what someone is willing to pay for him

Apologies, in that case I agree, but he wants to stay in England (specifically London) and I cant see any English clubs offering him the 80k reported so he will have to take what he can get.

Thought not.

Lazy player who can hardly be arsed to train at arsenal. Retired from international duty because he couldn't be bothered anymore. Not sure he fits the mould.
