RUMOUR - Jack Cork

by maffff » 19 Nov 2013 15:36

Couple of murmurings that we are trying to do a deal with Southampton for Cork in January, might explain why Baird hasn't had his contract extended yet.

Cork's only come off the bench four times so far this season. He can't get a look in past Schneiderlin and Wanyama with Ward-Prowse and Davis getting on the pitch more often too. Sounds like he's getting a bit frustrated, Saints won't stop him from moving on and him/Adkins would both want to work together again.

yes please, but surely he could get a decent offer from another prem side with more money to offset him being separated from adkins

You'd imagine he won't be short of offers, always good to hear that we are trying to be positive though. I'd take him.

Wouldn't any number of bottom feeding prem teams take him faster than we could bat an eyelash at him?

Maybe, but challenging for promotion with a manager you have already played for and only down the road from where he is now may just sway it

How do people seem him lining up alongside Guthrie? Or who would they play with him? I've seen him a bit but not huge amounts. I thought he was sort of a cultured deeper lying playmaker, which is basically the role Guthrie plays for us...

Palace will be all over him. Long time admirers. He could do better than them and us. Can't see him coming here, would be nice though.

The 'Adkins diet' might be an influence.

Palace don't need a midfield any more.
