Would very happily take him here, him alongside Gorkss/Morrison would be decent. Anyone but Pearce.

Dave-Royal Reading target Jack Hobbs' future is in his own hands according to Hull City boss Steve Bruce.

The 25-year-old had been expected to complete a permanent deal to Nottingham Forest after the City Ground outfit agreed a fee for the defender last week.

But the move never materialised and Hobbs, who spent the first half of the season with Forest, has now returned to the KC Stadium.

Hull are keen to sell him before Friday's 11pm transfer deadline, however, as he is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave for free.

And the Tigers claim they have received bids from both Reading and Wigan for the powerful centre-back.

Bruce said: "We accepted an offer from Forest on the 14th and for whatever reason they haven't got it done.

"It's back in Jack's court and back in Forest's court. We've had another offer from Reading and we've had an offer from Wigan. It's my job to do the best deal for the football club.

"Jack and Forest haven't been able to agree a deal as far as I'm concerned so I'm not the right one to ask.

"It's up to Jack to agree a deal so the ball is in his court."

Try going back to 1 o'clock this afternoon and you might see something familiar!!

Would rather we didn't get him. Hector has looked good so far and can provide cover for the next few weeks until Morrison is back. Then we'll be in a position to sign somebody better than him in the summer when the new owners are here. If we sign him then what statement does that give to the younger players? Go out and prove yourself on loan, come back when there is a gap in the squad for you to fill but the manager takes the first opportunity to sign somebody else who probably won't get a game when Morrison is back anyway. Keep the money for the summer!

And Forest, who he's not agreed terms with, so they were obviously his first choice. Unsuprisingly given he was already playing for them and their captain.

I suspect the little scally won't go anywhere & is trying to run his contract down so he can get a nice big sign on fee in the summer.

beat me to it Maffff

Leicester City have launched a bid for Hull City defender Jack Hobbs, Sky Sports understands. Nottingham Forest had been keen to secure his signature on a permanent deal following a successful loan, while Reading and Wigan have been given permission to speak to Hobbs, but Leicester are now very much in the running as well.

Listening to Nigel again tonight this sounds like completely made up nonsense by Bruce (including RFC's name as having bid for him again). No more deals in or out.

Hector has hardly played, how can he look good in such a short amount of time, let alone good enough to rule out signing a player that is young, talented and with a good amount of experience of success at this level.

Long term we need to replace Gorkss and this deal could be be ideal for that as he'll bring proven ability and he's young. Pearce, Hobbs and Morrison would be good options with Hector adding a little depth.
