 very much doubt it, but if true this would absolutely bloody fantastic, and exactly the sort of striker we need

Could be a beast at Championship level and Clarke did sign him for West Brom. 33 goals in 206 apps isn't amazing but that is all at PL and European level.

I've never really rated him.

He's big and powerful but seems clumsy, and I'm not convinced he will be prolific at this level.

And he's now 27, which is older than I thought, and I don't think he is good enough (or experienced enough for that matter) to be a leading senior player in the squad.

an absolute handful when he is fully fit, only problem is he is massively injury prone. I would expect WBA to try and recover a lot of the £5m they paid for him too

Can't see this happening unless it's a short term loan

I have.

And I don't think Anichebe would be any better.

Given some of our current strikers that record is actually impressive - even more so when you realise he's probably only played about 50 games in that time.

I think he'd be a good signing in the championship. If you consider the silly money Bristol city are bidding on relatively untested players then to get a player of his ability and experience would be a coup and you would imagine he wouldn't cost a lot.

Bit cheeky of Clarke to bid 500k for him this time round though!

I just assumed that would be our opening bid....or do you think Clarke will stick to his previous 6m valuation?
