Whilst this would be an odd one, I can't say I would be too gutted with this.

The past month has shown his tactical flaws, and the current league position we find ourselves in is a massive underachievement in my opinion.

Crowbar6753 The report by "Charlie Watts" sums up everything perfectly, he has been given a free reign to change this club from top to bottom, he has been backed by the impressive Thai owners and he now has his players and his backroom staff in place. To leave now would be the wrong thing to do and a sideways step, as opposed to a step forward.
I really do believe that we a tiny amount of fine tuning, the squad we have in place can and will challenge for a top two position this season.

This season? Not a hope in hell will we challenge for top two this season! We'll do well to nab a play-off place and then who knows.

We'll see. We're on a jittery run (We've still picked up points in that run) and nobody else apart from Derby have gone on a bad run yet, they will btw. All hope is not lost in November.

Coppelled_Streets Nope! I'm pleased to say I don't miss going any more. Once upon a time I'd think nothing of driving 450 miles twice a week to watch us, League Cup inclusive, but I just don't like the game any more. I follow merely out of habit, and because, of course, I want to see us do well; but I don't care to be a part of it any more. The crazy money in the game, corrupt owners, greed (on and off the field), match day experience.. it's a different game to the one I fell in love with in 1994 stood under an old rusty roof with the hairs on the back of neck standing up, as the South Bank cheered on our underdogs. That said, the cost of season tickets/half season tickets is fantastic! I hope we add a few thousand to the gates and there's something to celebrate at the end of the season! I will join in by shrugging my shoulders and perhaps take in the odd game down the local with a steak and chips and pint of Kopparberg!

Your non-attendance suggests you're not exactly coming from the most informed angle about the capabilities of this squad and team.

It's not exactly a bad run and I know they haven't lost, but Brighton's 3 wins in 9 isn't exactly fantastic. Neither's Boro's 3 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw in 7. There's certainly two or three in the top six who've had patchy runs.

I'm sad and shocked to say this, but from what I understand it looks like Steve Clarke is on his way to Fulham. #readingfc

Say he was to leave, i'm pretty sure that this will take the Thai's by surprise, who would be on the radar? and i guess we wouldn't be able to afford to poach a decent manager such as "McCarthy" from Ipswich, unless we get a decent amount of compensation from Fulham.
So what managers are out there within our grasp at this present time? or do we promote from within again until we can find a suitable replacement.
So far the new owners have surprised most fans with their dealings off the pitch, would they be able to pull off a coupe and attract a "Marquee" manager to the club?

Steve Clarke will be Fulham's new boss. He is leaving Reading to succeed Kit Symons.

If the cnut ends up buggering off to Fulham, after all of the backing he has been given, then he will receive more vitriol from our fans than McGhee, Pardew (and Warnock for good measure) combined, and rightly so!

LOL

I'm sorry, but what a tosser. Comes in, demands we get rid of a number of Reading stalwarts, gets a huge amount of financial backing in the summer, and then swans off to a rival at the first time of asking. I didn't mind his arrogance when it looked like he was going to stick around and prove it to be founded, but now he just looks like a tit.

A number of more innovative, smart, and dare I say humble young managers out there. No great loss in the long run. We haven't particularly advanced under him.

Were the Fulham owners not watching the results of Clarke's wonderful work when we threw away that two goal lead?

Guess the expectations were too great for someone who has never achieved anything worthwhile and is used to playing second fiddle!
