Would suggest the style Selles wants us to play will require a big squad. Definitely be expecting injuries whilst they get used to it (on top of our usual injury issues)

Hound Not heard or seen anything recently but could see Fornah working out quite well under Selles. May be one to be resurrected if we don’t get hold of current targets

Witcoop today mentioned Fornah available for loan but we aren’t interested at this stage

Yeah that would be a concern for me too , especially given the lack of a proper pre-season to lay the necessary groundwork for so many.

On the plus side , the early indications are that Selles will make substitutions frequently and early if necessary.

Would have thought Fornah's energy and dynamism would be ideal for Selles' style.

seen it before with Bielsa and Hassenhutl's teams where they are great up to Christmas and then tail off in the second half of the season as players get fatigued over the course of the full season

Apparently we’re after former Blackpool midfielder Joe Strawn. Personally, I have never heard of him and I think we need better at this stage.

Maybe Selles' team will be terrible before Xmas and even worse after?

Think even Blackpool fans will struggle to have heard of him. From what I can make out he was released at the end of 2021/22 after making 0 appearances for Blackpool and has been without a club ever since.

Signed a professional contract in June 22 https://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/2022 ... -contract/ imagine this would be one for the U23s

I’m sure as the window comes to a close there will be a lot of prem teams looking to loan youngsters out so we could see a late flurry after another quiet few weeks. Pick up one or two good ones and can completely change the team

Do we still have any kind of squad size limit - should we be keeping spots free for loans?

The fella from the Mirror who is pretty reliable is suggesting that the mess behind the scenes is putting off clubs and players.

Bearing in mind we have a tax bill to pay again soon the best we can probably hope for is Walcott and 2 or 3 bargain basement signings.

Ideally, before Friday is out we need 3 points and 3 signings - I can't help get the feeling that the persistant Walcott rumour is going nowhere as so many have convinced themselves it is a done deal but we are really back in the recruitment basement because of the way the club has been run at the top.

We have failed to pay loan clubs money due for wages on time, we can't pay fees of any kind (pretty certain we lost out on Jensen Weir because Blackpool could pay a fee whereas we couldn't), and even when we have signed players, we then fail to pay tax leaving them in limbo.

Yes, the facilities are amazing for this level but as a free agent, you would only join us now if you had literally no other choice or if you are a PL/Champ club looking to get someone out playing games, you'd be wanting some pretty concrete guarantees from us before even considering sending them to us, even if from a playing side the move makes sense.

Way the club has run has made life very, very difficult and will until the owner even goes or new investment is guaranteed.

So have all the rumours about the new investments just vanished or is that still lingering around?

We’ll get people in but no doubts the longer it waits the more likely it’s going to be ‘what’s left’

Shodipo and Amos didn’t go elsewhere did they? Someone like Fosu still available. Annoyingly sounds like Stansfield is staying put. But give it a few weeks and some prem/champ youngsters will realise they won’t be getting a game and will come available

Can you really blame them? As mentioned, if you're loaning out a player, do you seriously want to be loaning them to as club who has issues paying it's tax bills as well as players/staff on time?

Darren Witcoop, who has been pretty on the money this summer, suggesting that nothing imminent and Stansfield may stay at Fulham after a good pre season. Recent chaos likely to have put off players and parent clubs.

I do wonder if any remaining incomings will be in the desperate deadline day rush.

Without any investment we’ll most likely be under an embargo from early next week.

I certainly don’t blame them. I can see no reason why anyone would want to join us right now. Unless they have no other choice.
