Not sure now. Joao has flashes but has been poor all season. Need a surge from him now. Difficult to work out what makes him tick. He is good enough to score in any system when on form

Meite seems to get an awful lot of slack, maybe rightly so after being so good for us, but 3 goals in 2 years. Can’t all be ince’s fault.

Wouldn’t be upset to see either or both stay on but certainly not at any sort of wage making them top earners. Esp Meite. And both would have be 2 years max

You're bloody obsessed with that stat. Meite started 3 games last season because of injury, and he's started 2 games this season in his actual proper position. So yeah, player who was out for a season and played out of position for a season hasn't scored many goals shocker.

Joao is plenty good enough if you play around him and not just lump the ball up to him and watch while he's up against 3 defenders.

I don't believe that Joao wants to stay given he barely gets any game time. Although it's not like Paul Ince to make up random shit just for the sake of it.

I can imagine both would want to stay, however I don't think they'd be disappointed if they left as they'd probably end up with good deals elsewhere. To keep them on, we need to be in the Championship and must be on reduced terms as well.

As mentioned before doesn’t really matter how many games he has started etc. that’s the output we have from him in the last two years. And he doesnt offer much else either

Use the money for someone who isn’t constantly injured and get a better vfm from.

Problem is wide right is also Ince’s best position. And he is better and output far far higher

So argue he can't stay fit and play, don't hide behind a misleading goals scored stat. Or imply his lack of goals is to do with his form or ability.

There was no talk of vfm, just that they're capable of being a top strikeforce.

Not hiding behind anything, don’t know where you get that from. And how is it a misleading stat?

He has returned us 3 goals in 2 years for which we are a paying a substantial wage. That is all there is to it

As for capable - who knows? Seen nothing to suggest for a long time that Meite can make up a top strike force. He could 2 years back - maybe not now

No. It isn’t.

Because he's proved when fit and used well that he's absolutely vfm and if he can get back to that, which he's shown moments of in recent games when out on the right, he's an asset when fit.

Using goals scored records for periods out injured is blatantly disengenuous.

McIntyre is a really shit defender because he makes no tackles and wins no headers when he's out injured.

yeah and likewise we’d argue he wasn’t worth a new contract due to his appearance record and lack of success when he did play if it was up again. Same as Meite

Would gravitate towards this. As ever, we need to keep looking forward rather than relying on moments of quality players offered us three years ago. As mentioned last summer, collectively, these players have underperformed for too long. Rinomhota and Swift being prime examples, neither have pulled up any trees this season

Doesn’t add much to the discussion but for all the talk of his creativity, Ince has 0 assists from open play this season. It hardly aligns with his Dad’s constant mentioning of him being our “only creative player”!

yeah that father/son bullshit got on my tits. I imagine it did with the team. Especially when jnr was strutting around the pitch criticising everyone.
