Not sure I'd believe you assign boots to a player given Ehib changed his boots at half time on Saturday, first half they were dayglo yellow, second half they were white.

I’m not sure I understand.

Players definitely have their own boots, and more than one pair too. Boots are personal they need to be worn in to fit properly around the player’s feet.

It's not so much assigning boots to a player - someone has just gone:

"Hmmm - we don't have a #22 but there are 4 sets of boots on that peg at the mo, I wonder if Walcott owns boots like that? - oh yes, it appears he does, I wonder if that's a sign"

Yeah exactly this. Each player will have a set of pegs in the boot room for all their boots, so I can imagine someone having a look at what's in there when they see pictures and trying to work stuff out.

I'd love Walcott here as either a player or a coach/mentor for the younger players. I am sure he could combine the two roles.

Luckily he's probably not worrying about how much he could get paid, but more about the next stages of his life/career. Lots of nice places to live locally and good access to private schools etc. for his kids so I think we represent a good option for someone in his position. We'll see.

Darren Witcoop tweeting this morning that we are very much in the running for Walcott still - he has offers from the Championship and possibly even Bournemouth but is a big fan of Selles and enjoyed training here.

Would be quite the coup if it happens especially given interest from clubs higher up the food chain.

Would be an unbelievable signing at our level.

Still could easily justify a move to a lowly Prem team, knows the manager - and can surely only have a positive influence on likes of Azeez et al.

Talksport suggesting that Theo is hanging up his boots... if true, more than a tad disappointing.

Always thought that would happen particularly from the moment Selles says he was deciding what to do next but the door was open. If a player is not 100% focused on playing, they should retire - so happy for him that he is.

Shame we couldn't have got him in for a season, would have been a great mentor for Vickers and the other young lads.

After our start, and given our record, even ifhe did sign he'd be effectively retired - either injured or just receiving no service.
