When's the last time we signed a player?

That’s not included the 4 youth lads earlier

And more to come. Can still sign free agents after the window and that’s basically what we’re limited to other than loans

He has "ball" in his surname. He's destined for great things in this game.

He's also got lard in his name which means he's going to be a useless fat lump

He's also got Dom I'm his name which means he's going to be exposed as an S&M freak offering services to MPs. I'll go as far as suggesting his specialty is smothering one of their testicles in lard.

Scored again for England U19's and captained side.

With him, wifi and Smith back soon we should look ok up front.

Yep, we should be but I’d still take a punt on someone like Gary Madine and give him a one year deal. I just think because we mostly have young forwards we could do with an older pro who knows this league.

That sort of signing would have been my preference over Ballard. But with Ehibhatiomhan, Ballard and Smith covered by Vickers, Azeez and Knibbs if necessary, not to mention Jahmari Clarke, I think the squad is full.

It's going to be tricky giving everyone the games they need as it is.

Was that basically what Carroll was?

I’d have ideally had someone else like Smith, young but plenty of experience on a free. Granted not too easy to find

Based on that we could have potentially tried to convince Shane Long for another 12 months before retiring. Granted those conversations may have happened during the off season.

I was thinking someone with a record of scoring 10 goals in a season within the last decade.

Thought it was fairly clear we had those conversations with Long and Walcott.

Long was like Carroll though. Hadn't really scored goals in years.

Well yes Madine did scrape together 10 goals in a season about the time Carroll scored 9 in the prem

Their scoring records appear to be pretty similar otherwise tbh
