Summer additions from the relegated clubs.

by Cookie » 16 Mar 2008 13:58

When Fulham go down to the Championship, they will almost certainly be wanting to get rid of a few big earners.

And I am thinking how good Jimmy Bullard would look in our team. He is the nearest thing to Sidwell I've seen.

I recall he left Wigan because he wanted to live in the south east.

I'd agree with Bullard, and possibly Dempsey.

Would we pay Bullards demands?
Would love to see him play for us, but not sure if he would join.

Bullard would be a sound investment and looking at Boltons perilous run in, there premiership future cant be assured, and that throws up Kevin Davies and jaskalinen, but again wages would be the stumbling block.

not sure CM is the position we should be strengthening in the summer

wouldn't mind to see Giles Barnes come in from Derby though

Hows about:
Niemi, Bullard, Giles Barnes
[ Milner, Given, Taylor (If Newcastle go down!)], [Gordon if Sunderland go down], [Forsell and Larsson if Birmingham go down], [Koumas and Kirkland if Wigan go down].

If Wigan went down, I'd love to see us go for Paul Scharner. Of the more likely teams, I'd go for Gary Cahill and Dean Whitehead.

I don't thing any CM players from relegated clubs will improve us

Marek looks quality, Harps is a legend, Cisse looks promising and i still have hopes for fae

I'm not sure we'll be letting too many players go in the summer, though if we don't go straight up again then it would be harsh to stop the leaving.

Think you should support your more local team -Southampton not Reading , if you think that none of the midfielders from potential relagated clubs are better than what we have!

I would rather have Marek than any other central midfielder from a relegated team, and with cisse and fae still to find their best form i think that CM is the last position we should be strengthening

Hopefully Chelsea will get relegated so that we can have our Sidwell back.

We had this thread last summer didn't we.

I'll put my neck on the line and say few un known foreigners on the cheap and a couple of low profile English players.

Coppell won't go out and by players better than what we have.

More like Coppell wont have the funds to go out and buy players better than what we have.

Matejovski is a real jem, so they are out there, but how often do they come alone is the worry. I don't see the championship chairman giving Coppell the money he needs to build, and again the worry is we need quite a few players this summer, as there's a good few that need shipping out:

De La
Sodje
Bennett
Halls
Convey?
Oster?
...
