Isn't he out of contract this summer? As far as I'm concerned with Williams effectively in the shop window, Harte probably in his last season in the first team and Armstrong out of contract we've got to be in for him. McDermott and Hammond already discussed what they want to do in the summer which I reckon is Ledge, Bertrand and potentially Khiz in. If we could sign those three and only have to pay for Ledge (plus a small tribunal fee for Bertrand) then I'd be delighted.

I don't think we want Khiz. I'm fairly sure McDermott is playing Mills, Pearce and Morrison ahead of him in order to develop them. It seems more likely that we'll renew Ingi's contract

I am sure we would all like to see Bertrand back but I suspect Chelsea will want £3/4M so no way it will happen unless we get promoted.

I think we will give Armstrong and Ingi another year but Khiz seems to be out of favour.

They sold Scott Sinclair for £500k and he was playing in the Premiership for Wigan last season, something Bertrand hasn't done. I'm sure they said last summer he had one year left on his contract, so I can't imagine them being in a position to hold out for the sort of figure you're suggesting.

If he is on a free there will be now way we will get him, one of the promoted clubs(assuming were not promoted) or a bottom half prem team will snap him up. If we have to pay for him there is a lot bigger chance we will get him assuming we can do a Scott Sinclair esque type of deal.

He'll go to Forest after their promotion this season.

Chelsea goal: I think the Chelsea players might like Ryan Bertrand, you know. The youngster has only just come on for Ashley Cole and he flings over a super cross from deep on the home team's left flank, finding an unmarked Florent Malouda inside the Birmingham six-yard box to head into the ground and into the net. Game over, and the Chelsea players all rush over to Bertrand to congratulate him.

Good for him! His aim was always to break into the Chelsea side and it looks like he's done that in style.

Yep, 'greed.

Just seems like a thoroughly decent lad <insert 'wasted at Chelski' quip here>

I didn't go to the Fans' Forum, but a couple of mates who did said that he spoke well about enjoying playing at Reading and always wanting to give his all for whoever he was playing for. The fact that he was a loanee at a FF says a lot!

loyalroyal4life Bertrand >>> Harte

2 completely different players, at the moment Harte is the better of the 2, but if Bertrand gets a nice run in for Chelsea i can see him becoming one of the best around. Good on the lad had a fantastic attitude for a half cast, normally their attitude stinks.*

Judged as a full-back,i.e tackling and joining in with forward play:

Well, in fairness to myself they were flying back then as we are flying now. And it's not over for them yet.

Somehow, I just knew if anyone would pick me up on this, it would be you.

I think Forest are a very dangerous side
and I'd rather not play them in the play-offs

Rather them than Swansea IMO.

Swansea and QPR are the only teams to do the double over us this season i think. And save Feds' mistake against Nottm Forest at home we wouldv'e probably beaten them twice this season. All the sides are dangerous, of course but i'd prefer to avoid Swansea and face any of the others.
