Victor Meldrew
paultheroyal Off to Forest on loan along with Simon Cox

Is that definite?
What a difference they might have made to our team and I wonder why Cox could not have been part of the Long deal.

Cox will not entertain the idea of coming to Reading whilst Hammond is still here.

I thought this was common knowledge.

If true, he has extremely questionable judgement.

He may indeed, but given he'd not have a lot to do with Hammond in anything other than contact negotiations I think he'd be daft to have a grudge potentially affect the progression of his career.

Especially seeing as Hammond is recognised as a great DoF and Reading as a club that helps players move on to a higher level.

Hammond has a lot of input on the way the club is run. He's key to the whole place and, while I think it might be a little churlish of Cox to turn his nose up at what could be a decent career move for him to come back, I've got no problem with a player having some principles over who they choose to play for.

As for McLaren having a tantrum. I think it's called managing your manager and doing what it takes to try and be successful. I think at times we could've done with our managers showing a little more balls in requesting budget they felt they needed for success (it could be argued that Pardew and Rodgers did and that's why they departed).

It's the clubs/boards job to set the budgets, but as in any industry or job, if you don't think you can meet your targets with the resources you're given you're entitled to push back and let them know. If they can do anything about then fair play to your for getting what you think you need.
