bobby1413 I'm 5' 6" so not a giant. Also I never stand up persistantly, but stand up when singing or it looks like we might score.

Do you ever consider the person behind you when you stand up or do you just do it without thinking?

Do you ever consider standing up yourself if the person in front of you is standing?
Or better still, do you ever consider going to support Oxford?

It's my seat for the season and I don't want any trouble but not being able to stand up and direct chants at the away fans will ruin the game for me.

I love sitting in Y25 as banter with the away fans and the atmosphere is the main advantages. Without it - what have you got? Just a football match

Keep standing, eventually the person behind you will learn to stand as well, this will thern spread and the whole East Stand will be stood!

brilliant idea then the club can get fined for people standing - it's not difficult to sit, I just can't see the need for standing the whole game. yes stand when it gets exciting or there's a goal chance but other than that sit your fat butt down!

Exactly. But the problem yesterday was most of the match was exciting, the atmosphere was electric. I just don't want to sit with my arms crossed for 90 minutes, and find it hard to believe others in certain areas of the stadium want to do this.

There isn't a need to stand the whole game. Away maybe but not at home. Stand up when game is exciting and/or singing.

I am not moderating my reasonable behaviour to suit others. I stand or jump up when I am excited. That's tough. It is a football match.

As for standing when singing or something, I was singing most of the match yesterday and was sitting down everytime it stopped. So the guys behind me can sit in what they think is a library if they want.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it. If it remains a problem, direct them towards the west stand where they'll fit in a bit more.

This thread epitomises why StandUpSitDown is such a worthy cause.

At EP people who wanted to sit went in the North Stand, those who wanted to stand went in the Southbank. Simple.

Now everyone is lumped in together and it just causes friction.

Personally, I see the blocks Y24-26 as "unofficial" standing areas where large amounts of people stand frequently (not persistently), Anyone getting an ST in there should be plainly aware that that is the case.
