Can recall taking the coach from Lex Brooklands with all my dad's work colleagues and feeling like one of the lads - I was 8 8) . My memories of the match itself are less than vivid, what with it being only my second ever game, but can remember being captivated by the sheer enormity of Wembley. Loved the scoreboard; the rolling names and animations of each Reading player greeted with a cheer.....and when repeated at half time the cheer for Gilkesy had become a roar. What really sticks in my head is the chant that reverberated around the ground we love you Reading, we do - the first time that I had ever heard a football crowd chant in unison, hardly original and witty but certainly sums it up best 8)
