Someone should tell Harps that food poisoning doesn't set in until approximately 24 hours after eating the offending item, so it is unlikely that it was his undercooked sausages that are to blame

UNless of course he made the fry-up on Saturday, forgetting the game had been moed to Sunday for the telly

it's full of grease?

I agree, Harper is a hyperactive moron

Thats not very nice, is it?

He's our midfield kingpin. No need to call him a moron.

But he is hyperactive, though.

If he is our kingpin that explains why we haven't been steering in quite the right direction lately.

Unfortunately Mr Fox, you are wrong there.. Some food poisoning kicks in within an hour of eating. Depends on the type of bug and the victim...

brendywendy running about like harper does can only be affected negatively by a huge mega breakfast before a game.

Apart from the fact that it will provide him with the huge amount of calories he needs to last 90 minutes, your statement is entirely correct.

calories that could be obtained in vastly higher quantities, with less weight, and fats, and more easily digestable by eating a better sporting breakfast

Has it adversely affected his performances this season over last? No.
-dont know would have to look at the prozone stats
and its whether his performance is optimum or not, last season is irrelevant

Does he feel better for eating it? Yes.-
mentally yes, but is he physically fitter becuase of it-no

Have the club stopped his from eating it? No.-t yet

So much of the game is played in the head that even if it was affecting his physical preperation slightyly, I think the benefits of him going out there in a good frame of mind after his fry up probably outweighs the negatives.

why do people on here have to slate players??? If he feels it works for him then crack on Harps...it certainly dont stop you running for 90 mins.

Harps is a legend and dont get the credit he deserves.

Apart from the fact that these types of fats found in a fried breakfast or exactly the quick burning type he needs to get through a match. If he was eating twelve loaves of bread before a game, then yes, it would need addressing. He probably burns 2000+ calories in a match I would expect and the fry up is the quickest and easiest way of getting this amount into his system without him eating tons of chocolate or cakes.

Hatton has a fry up the morning before his fights, doesn't do him any harm.

Harper is a legend!

Probably is not the "best" thing for an athlete to eat before a game, but if it works for him, then so be it...

stop whinging at any possible chance people!!

quick burning fats?
chocolates and cakes??!!
rubbish

you require carbs for calories, fats are a calorie storage cell, using it to fuel your excersise is very innefficient

but then i am generally making it up
not being a sports scientist/nutritionist

i suggest some pasta would be more beneficial

One fry up a week is going to make no difference to him physically. Eat it all the time and he may have a problem (dodgy complexion at the least !).

Eating anythng from the Asda cafe is probably risky though, I once had a breakfast there and it was pretty much a bowl of lard with some crispy items in it that may once have been pork related.

i dont whinge!

im a fully paid up member of the RTGB

i am virtually never down on players/management/club

im just saying in my unproffessional opinion a fry up on the morning of a game isnt the best preparation, but am prepared to admit, that if the club are aware, and they say its fine
then its fine

harps is a god regardless

Judging by the state of him between fights he has more than one a day on the days he's not fighting!

When I was at school we had cross-country matches against other schools on a Saturday.
We mostly used to eat about half a ton of dextrosol each but one of the kids had to bike home (Reading school, saturday mornings at school worse luck) eat what was a full roast dinner (why on a Saturday we never found out but there were no such things as microwaves) bike back to school and about half-an-hour after scoffing it all down including pudding) set off on the 8 mile run and he never let us down.
He died when he was 20-no he didn't but it shows that with the right metabolism and mind set anything is possible.
