I like how you have picked how Murty and ignored the bloody great big Pole in defence.

Tutti Frutti Gilkes at right back? Oh Lord.

Michael Duberry (I know, I know, but if you think about it..)

No there really is nothing to think about with that shocking choice. Duberry?? He'd be lucky to make the greatest RFC RESERVE TEAM

Rubbish. The only Englishman to play regularly at centre half for Reading in the top division. Get some perspective. Just because you - like me - want him out of the team at the moment, doesn't change the difference between where we are now and where we've been.

So Harper must get in ahead of Webb then ?

Keith Curle went on to play at the highest level and gain international caps. Does that put him above Duberry ?

No right and wrong answer of course - but I would say Curle was a better player than Duberry.

LUX I agree, but it was Division 4, Gordon.

Actually, most of Friday's performances were in the old Division 3.

OK, not much of a step up from Division 4, but once a pedant, always a pedant.

Yes, since doing my list yesterday, I've come round to Curle/Duberry as a partnership. Webb clearly gets in because he was playing well below his level with us.

He also has European and Domestic club honours, England u21 caps and has played the majority of his career in the top flight.

But of course HNA knows best.

Fezza At the risk of being shouted down....

Martin Keown
Les Ferdinand
John Salako
Leroy Lita

Would all get into mine on the basis they all have international caps (if not senior ones Leroy)
I think you have to judge the players on their form whilst playing for Reading.

Had Keown and Ferdinand been at their best England form then yes, they would be in the starting lineup.

Last time we had this discussion there was a lot of debate as to whether loan players were eligible. Depnds on whether it is 'Greatest English players to play for Reading' or 'Greatest ever English Reading players'. Upson was probably the former, but not the latter. He was an Arsenal player not a Reading player. Much like Pearce and Henry are still Reading players even though we have loaned them to Bournemouth.

Point taken and if we are doing 'Greatest English Players to play for Reading' I suppose Martin Peters should be in it
