Coppell never met him before he signed.

He blew our transfer budget when we could have signed Davis on a two year contract for the same amount,

Sidwell left.

Coppell spent our transfer budget on someone who didn't speak English, didn't know the game and someone he never met.

Meanwhile Davis was available and he has played a superb part in getting Rangers to the UEFA cup final

My friend's a Fulham fan and he thinks Davis is awful, why did they loan him to Rangers? Coppell is a brilliant manager and I dread the day he leaves us.

Firstly, it was requested by the club that nothing be revealed by anyone outside the four walls until after the game on Sunday. That is why you're getting no detail.

Secondly, if at all possible I would suggest you get to a fans forum to make your own mind up if Coppell stays. The man speaks sense, always has done and always will do, and his honesty knows no bounds.

I hope Coppell stays but I think he will walk away if we go down.
We can never forget the magic of the previous two seasons. Even today on Radio 5 Live a reporter referred to there being no team loved like Reading in the past 12 months.
Last season newspapers were referring to Reading as many other supporters second team. Was chuffed to bits to see our little club being held in such high esteem.I genuinely believe there is a lot of goodwill for our club.
The management have made a lot of mistakes this season but Coppell is still a bright, perceptive, intelligent and highly regarded manager. He also knows how to win promotion from the Championship. If he wants to stay then he should be allowed to.

This is a request from the management team. They are not exactly going to set MENSA alight anytime soon so we just have to deal with idiots that are involved with day-to-day running of team affairs.

You have earned the right to manage us for as long as you want through your incredible spell at the club. Obviously if we were to go down into League One then I think people would consider your position but your integrity, honesty and skill warrants a place at the club, whether in the Championship or the Prem. Building a CCC-winning side on peanuts was a wonderful achievement, taking it to 8th place was exceptional. While we have come back to reality this season a little, you have still managed to keep a side costing around £5 million in contention in the 'best league in the world' despite all sorts of budget constraints and players' arguments. Yes you may have made mistakes in team selection and transfers but no-one is perfect and you deserve several chances based on your previous work at the club.

I support you and if you want to carry on as manager, I can't think of anyone better.

I am still on here - I just haven't bothered posting for a while cos the quantity of razor blades and paraquat being consumed by individuals on here made it seem like a waste of time.

My original thread was for EXACTLY what has been happening over the last 4 or 5 months; obviously mistakes have been made with regard to a lack of investment in bringing in players both during last Summer and in January, and in not paying the going rate for salaries for key players, and even in letting someone like Simon Cox go; HOWEVER, regardless of all of this it has still been a fantastic 3 seasons at RFC - without doubt the best if not ever, than since the 1920's - and we as fans need to recognise this and try to keep a sense of perspective.

Regardless of the results of tomorrow, what has happened at RFC over the last few seasons has been far more full of positives than negatives, which should be seen in context of the experiences of football fans generally - you can't tell me that fans of teams like Leeds, Southampton, Coventry etc wouldn't rather have had our experiences than their own?

Obviously no-one wants or relishes relegation (even thos who put money on it happening!) but if it happens then it isn't the end of the World (regardless of what the media try to suggest) and there will be positives to take out of it. Furthermore we will be in strong position to come back in due course, hopefully wiser as well as stronger.

One final thing - we aren't down yet; the media are making a big point about Pompey focusing on the Cup Final as a reason why Fulham will roll them over, but I suspect that Portsmouth won't lose tomorrow, whilst IF we can score an early goal we will beat Derby.
