Southbank Old Boy Your case is pretty weak if you're having to resort to using idiots like that to support your claim!

Ignoring those posters that aren't worth the time, I still don't think anyone is slagging off the club.

Pretty harsh considering he was backing you up  Although he did reinforce my point that there are those slagging off the club, regardless of how stupid and pointless they may be.

To be fair I think that was the only post getting close to the slagging off the club mark, and it was made after yours.

Just a coincidence then eh? I've heard the words mug and pathetic thrown around a couple of times, but in all fairness that was probably from the likes of BMOTP.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock says the club have turned down offers from Birmingham and QPR for want-away midfielder Ben Watson.

Both were rejected, but an unnamed Premier League club has also entered the race for the 23-year-old.

A new rumour is that Watson was pulled out of their friendly last night after Palace received new bid(s) for him and some of the tabloids are saying Forest have put a bid of £1.75m in.

If we are interested I would expect us to make a move sooner rather than later and I hope we do because he will be a great acquisition for any club in this division.

Agreed although best of luck to anyone trying to get Warnock and Jordan to do business with us.

I had heard we were very interested, two bids knocked back apparently. But neither bid close enough to what Palace are holding out for.

And who told you that?

I think he'd be a good addition regardless of whether or not Harper stays. We'll need four CM's; Watson, Harps and Marek are three and an injury prone Gunnar and up and coming bit part player Karacan would togeather make one whole player.

i think the idea is to barter-and not just give them the 2 million they say they require
which is alot of money for a championship CM
we say 0.5 m 1st ,they say 2m, we say 1 m, they say 1.5, we say ok

that sort of thing

Or more likely:

We say £500,000, they say fcuk off
We say £1m, they say fcuk off
We say £1.5m, they say fcuk off
We say "Oh, OK".

This will be a big missed oppurtunity if we dont sign him, would be worth every penny of 2 million.

You get the feeling that we really should be favourites here, with the only problems being a high bid from another club, or a lower / newly promoted Premiership team coming in for him. If Harper leaves, I'd love to see Watson alongside Majetovsky. Superb centre partnership in waiting, that one...

Problem is, is Harper actually leaving? A 40% release clause with Arsenal suggests that we'll end up doing an "£x up front £y afterwards" sort of deal with Harper, with a similar sort of deal for Watson.

Nice to see the same Koumas-esque comments comming up again. A player that we are obviosuly not going to sing will go somewhere else to the dismay of the RFC faithful. A player that many on here have probably not seen play more than twice, but as he is slightly high profile in Champsionhip terms, therefore will be the deciding factor in their minds as to whether or not we are promoted.

The lad may well be a good player, but at the price Palace are touting about, then it simply won't happen. This is Reading FC afterall. You should know by now this just ain;t going to happen.

Don't get your hopes up, just look forward to a couple of lower league bargains or more players from Cork City. Thats about as good as it it will get for us in the forseable future.

I hope you are wrong. I think the club are very likely to splash out on one big signing this summer as I am sure they are aware of the rumblings of discontent amongst the fans and that is why the OS made a big play about SC having the 5.5M from Kitson sale to spend as he thought fit.

I would certainly rather we risked 2M or so on the likes of a young up and coming Watson than a washed up ex PL player or another foreigner like Fae.

He'd get paid more elsewhere I would guess. Can't see him coming this way...
