PremAddict Has anyone confirmed if it's on 'net radio BBCRB? Just tried to listen-in and nothing but music.

No, it is just the occasional bit of commentary mixed in with music and horse-racing.
Oh, and apparently we have a trampolinist interview to look forward to ...

Finished 1-0 to Reading. Lerkils O/G, or possibly Shane Long (MOTM).

Score-line did not do justice to the game.

Local goalie played a blinder and kept out numerous shots.

Good work out for the lads.

In reality with what we have at the moment, and are certainly likely to have until we do our business in January !! I would not expect too much, and a great fera is that so much is being put on Mareks head and if he doesnt come off then who else is going to become the main midfield mystro, we dont have many if any options.

LOL at us 'doing our business' in January. The two £250k signings will make all the difference.

WOuld that be £1.5m Matejovsky your referring to? Or maybe £800k Duberry. Still it's much better to just make shit up isn't it.

In january last year we were getting in a perilous position, admitted by Coppell himself when he said after we got beat in september by west Ham 0-3, that he thought we were going to struggle so yes we went into the January window with renewed vigour and determination to get some new blood and do everthing possible to get clear of the bottom 3, we got one, probably decent player, in Marek, and one ex-prem has been in Duberry, hardly bank breaking efforts to stay in the Prem, and most people will agree with that!!

Just back from the game.

Played in very hot conditions, game itself was very disappointing, especially the 2nd Half. The Royals got a One Nil win thanks to a goal which I would have said belonged to Shane Long.

Lerkils played way above themselves to get a very creditable result, especially their goalkeeper who played an absolute blinder and was named as the home teams man of the match.

As for the Reading players -

Mikkel Andersson - very quiet game for the keeper was a spectator for the most part.
Liam Rosenior - Had a good game, linked up well with Henry in the first half and had a good couple of chances, one which the keeper saved well. Communicated well which was good to hear.
Alex Pearce - Very solid, headed the ball well and went in for everything, seemed to have a good partnership with Doobs.
Michel Duberry - Funiest moment was the local announcer who had some trouble with Duberry and Cisse's names. Duberry very assured and had a very good game. Shouting a lot and organising which was good to see as he was the captain. Also made me laugh when he asked the ref how long was left, to which the ref replied "10 minutes" Doobs then said "Ten, surely it's 5, haven't you got a home to go to?"
Nick Shorey - Some good touches, looked very comfortable and was by far the best crosser of the ball in the game.
James Henry - I'd never seen Henry play so didn't know what to expect, to be honest I wasn't all that impressed, I'm sorry to say it. Reading need to buy a right winger and make sure he can deliver a good ball in to the box. Henry delivered so many poor balls into the box I lost count.
Kalifa Cisse - Started really well, hassled in midfield, faded as the game wore on. Nearly got himself booked in the first half after a couple of heavy challenges. Name was anounced as Kiss-a by the anouncer which I'm told can me wee in sweedish, nice!
Marek Matejovsky - Good game in midfield after returning from injury, I think Reading will rely on his creative influence this season. Was taken off in the 2nd half.
Bobby Convey - Looked bright and hopefully back to the Convey of old, 2nd best deliverer of crosses after Shorey. Didn't look happy at half time, and was taken off and replaced by Shunt.
Shane Long - named The Royals Man of the Match for which he got a basket of Jams and Honey. If it hadn't been for the Goalie would have had a hattrick will need to be more clinical this season.
Noel Hunt - played ok, made the goal but looked very tired towards the end, another Royal informed me had blisters all over his foot which could have been why he was struggling.

Subs
Steve Hunt - Had a lot of energy when he came on, played ok, nothing spectacular.

Jem Karacan - again another Ok performance nothing fantastic.

One Lerkils fan thought if Reading played like that against Halmstads on Tuesday we'd get a bit of a beating, and I think he had a point.

Nice day out though and very pleasant friendly people, excellent to be able to get that close to the players.

June 23, howser I await with interest over the next three or four weeks to see what if any inroads we make into the transfer market or are we going to hear those old familier words " we will go with what we've got" and "we will do our business in january", question there being what have we got ??

July 10, howser I think we will go with what we have got and do our business in January................a somewhat familiar ring about that one !!

July 19, howser Telling porkies ?? I several months ago lost faith in anything that is spouted out from the club, there have been so many qoutes from the club which can be taken with a pinch of salt, i.e. "we will do our business in the summer", did they ......no, "we will stay with what we have got till the January window", did they buy ..........No, and so it goes on.

July 24, howser Yeah I was actually having a wee jest cant honestly se us buying anyone else, we have tried Pearce in midfield, Hunt tonight at left back would appear that we are "going to go with what we have and do our business in january"...............that rings a bell somewhere !! [no shit!]

July 26, howser In reality with what we have at the moment, and are certainly likely to have until we do our business in January !! Well it certainly gets to have a familiar ring to it if you bang on about it long enough. Where did you get that quote from anyway? '"we will stay with what we have got till the January window", did they buy ..........No' Er, that would be yes. The problem is, if you engage in exaggeration and hyperbole at every opportunity (such as "we'll sell 8 to 10 of our first team players on the cheap and replace them with academy starlets" or "the moment the club gets a sniff of a fee in the millions all reason will be out the window") no one - not even the other STGs - are going to take you the least bit seriously.
