I'd rather we play Schards in midfield than Cisse.

and btw - taking it that Southgate watched that game yesterday - he will admit that he did have a funny 5 when he thought about buying Harper. Can safely say that Southgate will be looking elsewhere

Cisse is a pretty good player and tends to get stuck in unlike other Reading players...

Cisse + Harper = Coca Cola Championship.

Neither are very good.

I noticed more successful challenges from Harper than Cisse AND Harper can pass AND Harper can shoot. Marek is probably worse at tackling than Cisse, but he can also pass and shoot.

Cisse is a centreback who has possibly suspect heading ability. Not a midfielder.

Do not panic Newcastle fans, as Coloccini will sign within 48 hours. Also Owen and Steve Harper will sign new contracts. Also after Coloccinis arrival 3 more players will be added, they are:
Stephen Warnock (£3m) Blackburn
James Harper (£5m) Reading
Scott Sinclair (£5m) Chelsea – cheap but there will be a 50% sell–on clause, meaning 50% of any sale will go to Chelsea
Sold:
Smith (£3.5m) Everton
Ameobi (£2m) Hul

Never in a month of sundays but I can hope - if Keegan watched his first two games - then lob off the last zero on the £5m figure...at least!

Harper is a very very good player and his personality is key also. Very under rated indeed.

You lot might bitch about him but what he lacks is a decent midfield partner (Sidwell never replaced and boy is he missed).

Is Harper goes and we bank another £5m. Great. Whoopy f**king doo. We wont see any of the pissing money!!!

Anyone good enough to replace Harps we wont spend the money on anyway.

The prospect of Cisse starting in midfield for a couple of months has me terrified. At least Harper has had good games for us and can be really effective when the team is playing well. Cisse is mediocre at absolute best in midfield.

You obviously follow games on BBRB if you think that Harper is the innocent victim in midfield ! He's effing captain and he's meant to drive the team !

As far as anyone to replace - there's be a huge list - but Watson is available and at half the price - bargain!

You're a few pence short of a fiver mate if you seriously think Reading Football Club will match the £2,000,000 asking price for Ben Watson while we are a Championship club.

Now name me a suitable replacement that could be available at £1,000,000.

When Bikey gets back from Beijing, I would like to see him in midfield, alongside either Harper or a fit Marek; that would give us the bite we have been lacking since Sidwell left.

Sonks and either Pearce or Ivar in central defence.
