dobcheck I posted on this page yesterday that Sky Sports is a straw clutcher just like the tabloids they dont have a clue about what is really going on. Who is their 'source' that says Wigan have agreed a deal for Hunty, tabloid press on the telly, broadcast 100 rumours from 'sources' and one is bound to stick! I look forward to seeing Hunty lining up against Wolves on Tuesday.

Gotta say I was loling all the way when they were trying to back track earlier this evening. Whoever that source is won't be trusted for a while me thinks.

That guy is an idiot. He spouts the biggest load of bull you'll ever hear on TV. Almost as bad as Lolwarenson.

I presume Hunt really wants to leave because at the moment you have a great chance of going back into the Premiership.

Don't let hunt Go : Doyle

By Aidan Fitzmaurice
Friday January 23 2009

Kevin Doyle has pleaded with Championship side Reading not to sell his Ireland team-mate Stephen Hunt to Wigan Athletic.

Hunt took a step closer to the Premier League today when Wigan tabled a £5million bid for the Ireland international, and as Reading are not in action this weekend due to their FA Cup exit, a deal could be done in the next 48 hours if Wigan boss Steve Bruce can prove he's serious about signing the Waterford man.

But Hunt's team-mate with club and country has begged the Royals not to sell Hunt and to keep him on board for their promotion push, despite the arrival at Reading earlier this week of a possible replacement in fellow Irishman Jay Tabb.

Merely good. If we don't make automatics (by no means even close to guaranteed), we almost certainly won't be the play off form team, which means we probably won't win that.

Whereas Wigan won't go down this season, and have been up there for 4 now. Probably a better short term bet than Spurs, though if Spurs stay up, they are the better medium term bet.

Surely Doyle knows of the contract clause? It's not up to us, he needs to plead with Wigan to not bid for him, or SHunt to not go. Reading have no say in the matter.

I see this morning's 'currant bun' is reporting Shunty as having gone to Wigwam yesterday for 5 mill. They must know something we don't then.

SERIOUS QUESTION

If Hunt is still here (but where is his head?)
should he play v Wolves or will he be a liability?

Nah, we should play someone who hasn't come close to his quality in 3 years, a youngster, or a player who's been with us two weeks instead.

More interesting will be the reception he gets and how that may affect his performance - still even if he gets the bird, his performance won't be any worse that what we see from Harper week in ,week out! :D

Personally I hope when the window closes and if he is still with us he wants to go and prove that he IS good enough for prem football by helping taking us back there and hence making people sit up and notice him.

Amazing a thread that has absolutely no relevance to Harper at all can still get people posting how shit they think he is.
